Traditionally Hollywood had distain for writers. Now writers who have some technical skills and acumen will be able to cut out the entire film industry and take their visions directly to the public. Talk about the ultimate revenge!

Very true - though your words "writers who have some technical skills and acumen" is everything. Accordingly I don't think it will effect many of them in a positive way. Also, don't forget screenwriters are treated with even more disdain by the literary world.

There's always going to be demand for real art. No matter how good and photo-realistic Ai gets, it still feels fake. It has no imagination or emotion like that of a real person. Sure it can make amazing stuff and it's gonna affect artists yes, but there will be customers out there who will still will want the real thing, in a sea of AI generated repetitive fakeness. The challenge will be to find these type of customers and target your services to them, but they will be out there. Alternatively, work on finding another career or thing that you enjoy as much as you do art. Something that's not dominated by the world of computers and graphics. Don't put all your eggs in one basket.

So by 2030, I think there will be 2 film industries: the AI users and the Analog ones. The AI users will be the Studios (natch) and reeeeeeeeally broke-ass indie filmmakers who can't even afford actors. The Analog ones will be filmmakers who use real people on real locations (or close to that). We'll have separate terms to describe each one (the way we have "snail mail" or "meatspace" or "dead tree" to describe things from digital counterparts) and people will go into them based on the cost-goal-integrity ratio. Also, people will probably try to get a hold and a lock on earlier versions of this before more guardrails go up. Guaranteed that Sora v.6 won't let you make AI porn with Jenna Ortega and Riley Keough, but v. 1 or v.2.1 might. And then those earlier versions will be extremely valuable and people will learn coding just to figure out how to copy that and distribute it to willing buyers for greytrade currencies. But there is no way in fuck this doesn't eliminate at least 80% of all creative media jobs.

Oh they said the same about records and live music PA's, and EDM, and AI music.. Now the power of sight and perception has changed. Creativity is freedom, and joy is the purpose, and this has led to an AI inevitable expansion, which are the results of our work. It's the universal life-force that flows in our veins, it's the air we live and breathe.. In the hands of artists these new tools will create new meta art and societies that are beyond our most futuristic hopes and dreams. This moment now is completely beyond what our previous imaginations could even conceive....

Your mention of 🌽 is absolutely an issue; there was a huge debacle on Twitch where a man generated AI 🌽 of his friends!!!! That’s so screwed up!! As an artist, it’s really upsetting that many ai programs are being trained on artists without compensating any of them. I don’t like the fear mongering going around because it just bums me out, but I also want to be aware of the dangers here. I’m glad they’re willing to force users to tag their content as AI.

That mirage is then used by other people in their videos, usually for profit. With all the advancements in technology over the last 30 years movies have not got any better but I applaud anything that kills the bloated budgets of big corporate studios. And this may ... though it will probably only effect extras, location shooting and film sets. Leads will still get $10 million, $20 million, $30 million plus per film. It wont help all writers, only the good ones who will direct their own films and become the auteur on the project.. But who knows how it will play out. After Polar Express they said actors would not be needed (as much) anymore ...it didn't transpire. Video games will continue to kill film and once humans are fully integrated into the storylines that will be the end of it. No great loss as there there will still be a niche market for films (and no doubt there will be a lot more cable TV) Maybe people will rediscover the past? You know a film from 1939 is a new film if you haven't seen it before.

@@mikesmithz Honestly I won't make it for the views, it would be to just get to see how cool and succesful it would look as a real looking movie (besides I think I would still get some bit of views, maybe not much but enough to justify giving it a try and seeing a bit of reactions to it and comments maybe)
@21EC
@21EC 5 ай бұрын
@@mikesmithz I get what your'e saying, it has some truth to it I guess but I still think having a world that has AI boosting it's capabilities and accelerating technology research on all fronts is better than a world that is AI-less in which it has more time for the people to watch these movies. I think that the only AI movies that would get more views (maybe much more) are those that would really have a good storyline and something that would cought the potential audience attention, also those that would put decent amount of money to advertise their AI movie would have more exposure still which would still gain them some views. I kinda finding it hard to think that just bcs AI would be able to generate AI movies that then all of humanity or most of it would keep generating AI movies nonstop to the point of literally not having anymore time left for seeing other people's AI movies, there is maybe gonna be a super hype of the tech at the beginning but then people would decrease the rate of their AI movie creation pace and at some point might even stop and then those other smaller percentage of people that would still be (long term) dedicated to what they actually love doing - creating movies with AI - they would be having more people having more time to watch their AI movies. Oh and BTW the future won't be so boring, in fact the opposite, it would be the most interesting era to live in much more than it is currently since AI would create new sciences/new cultures/new discoveries/new ways to experience realities and what not, as we progress with tech and new inventions and breakthroughs more options open up which means the present becomes less and less boring because of it, I think it might even be too much in the future in terms of sensory overload maybe and things to do or experience.

I’m not sure everyone will be creating their own art. Once Sora becomes available to the public, realistically it’s probably going to have a pretty hefty monthly subscription fee. For creators and video creators who do this for a living then it’s probably worth investing in. However, for the average Joe I really doubt they’re going to be paying for it monthly just so that they can create their own movies. Most people just aren’t interested in that kind of thing.
@21EC
@21EC 5 ай бұрын
@@elliotforemanfilms It's what I came to realization with today, I think unfortunately that their tech is too pricey for the average person and they are going to ask for a rather expensive subscription fee per month so then sadly it will be catering for only the small percentage of high quality serious professionals of video film making and actual producers of movies since it would be worth it for them even if it would cost $50 or more per month to use it since they would earn back the money from their production and movie they would create with it, so it means most people would have to wait for it to become cheap enough to be able to afford it and then it would only go mainstream in like 3-4 years? I don't know, again, if it's not too pricey I might still want to buy it since it's that impressive and revolutionary to overlook it and to hold back from it due to its relatively high price, as long as it's basic subscription tier won't cost like $100 per month then it's gonna be fine, I'd be willing to pay for basic tier about not more than $40 per month ( depends of how many videos per month I would be able to create as well and if it's worthy enough)

Writer responds, "If AI can do my job, it definitely can do yours, see you in the unemployment line." 4) Look at this as another tool in your belt and learn to use it.

Wait until the AI legal software comes out and can scan text and image for plagiarism. An actor who was in the original Top Gun is suing the producers of Top Gun: Maverick because they used a picture in the film that he was in. This is very small potatoes. You have no what is required for cinematic story telling of long form video, a few short clips of AI generated content is nonsense. The level of control required to make accurate backgrounds and character interactions is years away and way more details too many to list. Will this speed productions, yes will it lower costs eventually, yes. Will it change story telling yes in time, but tools are only as good as the story teller that uses them and most people barely know how to walk and chew bubble gum.
