Newbie to the Drone scene, just got myself a Mavic Air and am loving your videos, very informative and puts me at ease with knowing tricks of how to do and what not. Ignore the haters about the flailing hands, to a deaf person the use of hands are a way of communication, it shows the emotions, creativity and excitement you are feeling in getting out these videos, at least you’re not boring to watch, 😂Keep up the great work Dude!

That's my tip for you. When you making video put music volume down to -6dB, because when you speak your voice is not compressed and not sounds loud, but music is heavily compressed so it sounds a lot louder than speech. Cheers!

2:10 the shutter speed should be determined by your frame rate for the most cinematic look, and a more realistic motion blur. It should be double the frame rate so30 fps = 1/60th of a second, 120fps = 1/240th of a second, and so on... the only exception is if it's too bright and the lowest iso is still too high
@beezermedia4 жыл бұрын
But his shots still look good right? I feel like I've been using the 180 degree rule with ND filters and all my shots look like shit. Might give it a go

Hi Francis - I really love all your Mavic Air tutorials. I just bought a Mavic Air a few weeks ago and they've really helped me! I have a question though - I just shot some footage this morning - some in 1080 120fps for slow mo and some in 2.7K 24fps. The 24fps footage looks great, but the 1080 is really grainy and has an almost TV static look to it. Have you seen this before? Just wondering if maybe I have a setting wrong? (I had the shutter at 240). I'd love to get that slo mo footage crisper! Thanks!
6 жыл бұрын
Great video! But how do you play with different frame rates IF you want to shoot everything in 4K? I found the difference in picture quality is big in the Air, between Full HD and 4K. Thank you and keep up with the good work!

@2:36, after talking about the importance of not clipping "them whites and them blacks" you immediately show a shot where of a lake where the highlights are blown and the shadows are completely gone. The "perfect image". Please explain.
@AnalBeard6 жыл бұрын
I stopped watching at this point. Forgetting that his hand movements and speech are irritating, you don't talk about the importance of particular settings and then immediately show a clip which contradicts what you've just said.

To enforce the ISO point, the Air really has to be kept at it's lowest ISO (100) unless you want to start messing in post with noise reduction.

Hey man love your tips I’ve been flying a phantom for a year now and just purchased a mavic air I put my videos on my channel and do it more for my pleasure but if you are bored I would love it if you viewed a few and gave a little bit of criticism I know they don’t even compare to yours but that’s the goal! And I should do better stuff with D-cinelike
@scottm82855 жыл бұрын
Actually, for "cinematic" footage you want your shutter speed to be 2x your frame rate ... so for 24fps you'd want 1/48 and for 30fps you'd want 1/60. Then use ND filters to knock the light back if you need to. This way you'll get smooth motion and blur without the stuttery look of digital cameras.
