10 tips for cinematic video, but none of those tips included probably the most important factor : the frame rate to shutter speed ratio (180° rule, shutter speed 2x more than frame rate) and the use of ND Filters to achieve the right shutter speed in bright conditions.

Liked so much your video. About slo-mo... So you think 1080 120 fps has a good quality in this Mavic Air? Even editing and playing the final video in 1080 differences in image quality with 4K or 2.8K are obvious... It seems to me 1080 120 is not a really FULL HD. I may be wrong. Thank you! Anyway, you just work in 4K and you change to 1080 just in case you are looking for slo-mo? Or you work always in 1080 120?

When your on the EXP screen actually move the joystick and you will see how making the changes impacts the joystick.. the dot will move and follow the line and you will see / feel how much movement you have to do in order for dot to start moving.. super handy to see it while you test the movements.. also helps you see which of the 3 is adjusting what for sure..

Francis - I had a chance to practice more with the MavicAir over Easter weekend. I was watching my phone to close and came SUPER close to slamming into the water. 6" or less from splash down. I can't wait to show you the footage. lol
@FrancisDarracott6 жыл бұрын
Ah wow! Can't wait to see it. Will you upload it to IG or YT?
@gcomfx6 жыл бұрын
YT for sure... I've yet to try a video on IG. That might be a good tutorial idea for you down the road. lol I'm interested to see what you think of the footage. It's nice and clear in 4K haha... and after grabbing the audio from my phone... it seems the drone did NOT alert me to the water, but the sensors and alerts DID detect me... or the land I was standing on AFTER I altered the remote to full steam UP and saved it from splashing down. :/
@gcomfx6 жыл бұрын
I'd still love it if you checked out my drone shots on my IG. You are the reason I bought the Spark... then we had the same idea and bought Mavic Air's at the same time. lol

Love your videos, they have really helped me, so thank you 🙏🏻 I have a Question regarding video size on Mavic Air. At the moment I am still learning so have stuck to 1080 HD @30 FPS. I as about to start using 4K but you say you shoot 1080 HD @120 FPS. Is this your standard setting or do you vary? The quality of your videos always look so good 😊

I’ll be getting my first drone soon. (Mavic Air) I’ve watched a lot of KZbin doing my research and haven’t seen anyone mention if you need to do anything to your phone to stop phones text etc while you’re flying and how this would effect the drone if you did get a call?

Hi Francis! You talk about manual mode and how you would have a bad shutter etc. when looking up from the ground to the sky, hence switching to manual mode to have better image quality. But what if you're point is to transition from ground to sky for a cinematic shot, won''t the fact that it doesn't adjust automatically, ruin your shot because your settings haven't adjusted automatically but instead you have to slowly fiddle with it yourself therefore making the shot impossible for one continues transition shot? Was wondering how you deal with that. Great video by the way!
