Great post! I was able to replace the gimbal and flat ribbon with parts that I ordered online. I also repaired one of the arms without replacing it. Flys perfect! Here's the problem. I have a Code 40021 Gimbal IMU error which causes the cam to tilt to one side. I think it is a software error. Anybody know the fix? I see many people who have repaired their own minis have encountered this problem.

@@doubleu1446 no plans, :( the camera is shaking up and down in high frequency, and with vision sensor error ,I want to buy a replacement but I have no idea which part is damaged, i think is the camera . It cost 130 euros to buy a new one :( I guess I m going to buy a new drone.

It was not that easy to push the rubber mounts into the case (I used tweezers), but I managed. So thanks for the instruction. My Mavic mini has it's Gimbal in place again. Happy flying!

@@robinmarchand1211 mine too just a week ago... I set on iphone to stand in position in case of losing signal, but in fact not worked... i lost signal and the drone start to fly back so fast (sport mode) it was too late to stop it.. he crashed so bad and happen the same.

Hello! Just a small hint, the "screwdriver and opening toops" set you recommend to buy in the description does not work for the mavic mini, as the screwdriver is too thick to fit into the holes to unscrew the screws at the back of the drone

i know this may sound crazy, but i never looked at this before but the left rubber piece where it goes into the drone housing was facing backwards.. i have no idea how long its been like that or how it got that way.. but i fixed it and got my mini flying again.. Thank you so much!

Need some help, on mini 2, I ordered a 3 in 1 flex cable. It appears the same, I plug it at the motor board and plug it at the gps board. Is the cable supposed to twist when it meets the gimbal plug, because it won’t plug in, unless I twist the cable around. Is this normal

Alright I’m not like a pro but this same problem happened to me you can buy a new camera on amazon or your preferred site about 60% of the time it comes with a new flex cable hope that helps😄

That torn cable had me thinking for 2 days how it fitted.. there are white lines on the ribbon that shows how it fits.. if you still need advice i will try and describe in full how it fits to everything from memory as i just fitted mine a week ago..👍

Hi, i have broken 3 of the 4 gimbal legs (legs that fix gimbal on the mavic mini body via rubber parts). It look like that my gimbal is still working, it is still stabilized and i can make it go up and down. Those gimbal legs are on the upper part of the gimbal. Do you think that it is possible to change only this part? Anything could help.

Hello! Please help me. I crushed my mini 2 and broke ribbon cable. After I have changed the cable, I have 40002 error, gimbal stuck. When I power up the drone, the camera makes moves ( left, right, up, down) and after this is making a continuously noise and does not work up or down. The image is ok. Can it be fixed?

I've managed to do this without disassembling the case with new rubbers. Just took patience and a pair of curved needle nose pliers.

It is best to pull the camera out until you hear a pop, indicating the gimbal is now in place and no longer stuck

@@jakjosc maybe its ur ginbal fault... U should replace the gimbal too .. My mavic mini had a crash too 3 times but luckly only a bit of crack in arm and gimbal rubber got loose.. And some horizon issue after the last hard crash but still great

I've also crashed my mavic mini and after that the gimbal was horizontally inclined but I could fix this by manually calibrating the gimbal... don't know for how long this solution will work.. in long term I'll have to open the mavic mini to fix it straight again or replace... hopefully I don't need a complete new gimbal... these gimbals are fukking expensive (140€) :( UPDATE: I've decided to open the case because it was starting to complain that the gimbal is stuck. I had luck and it really was stuck somehow but I could fix this. Now it's flying again without problems :)

@@blue_monkey89 I think I just found my problem, it was fine sand that stuck into my roll Axis gimbal. So it not so loose when roll to the left side. It was my bad, I'm just a newb, I learned my lesson to not take off and landing in sandy floor 😓

I don’t understand how the cover comes off so easy. Mine is very difficult. It is all separated except near front. Any pressure threatens to bend the plastic. It is like it was glued.

I have the same problem too. My Mavic Mini got stuck in a tree and it fell and I heard a loud crash. The gimbal came off. Now my grandpa and I are trying to fix it while watching your video. Or I can pay for Dji care refresh for 35 dollars.

You can't buy the Dji refresh after a crash unfortunately.. I thought the same but it's not possible.. I had my camera and gimbal break in 4 places, and all cables were ripped out too.. I ordered both cables on ebay for £18, glued all parts together.. all works perfectly again.. had to strip the whole drone down tho which is very tedious in my opinion, such fiddly wire connectors.. good luck with yours

Anyone changed both gimbal cables and still hab a dead gimbal/camera? I don't know what to do next, both cables were replaced, I can connect to the remote and app on the mobile phone, but get errors like 40021, 10016, 10022, 40011, 30007, 30049, 30066, 10001 and 40012 .. I guess there's still something wrong with the gimbal, maybe a burnt motor? Any ideas much appreciated. br Mike

I think the cable wont be a problem if you exchange. but obviously you cannot exchange the gimbal without calibration.

As i understood its not possible to calibrate new gimbal without dji. Fuck! In your case, you may buy only a new camera glass and exchange?

The Mini camera is programmed / paired to the core board and IMU at the factory. The in-app calibration procedure will not set the gimbal straight. Proprietary DJI software is required to set the gimbal straight (although there is a DIY way to get around this, but it is somewhat complicated and requires good computer skills). If you replaced the camera, it will flag a camera/gimbal error even if everything is right, because DJI codes the camera serial number to the core. The IMU error could be related to the IMU itself being damaged. Without proprietary software or techniques there is no good way to set the gimbal straight.
