Thanks for doing the test run and commentary; nicely done. Looks like the Mavic Pro easily handles 2 miles out and back with respect to battery life and signal strength. Maybe 3 miles out and back would a reasonable max that still leaves enough emergency battery reserve.

Don't blame you not going out to at least 4 miles. 2 miles out and back you have done 4 miles round trip and you have still about 56% battery left. That is pretty good. Seems like the battery would last an 8 mile round trip. It would probably be almost critical by the time it returns from something like that.

Thanks for the video. Why did you shoot 48fps? Is there any specific reason for that? I usually leave it in 30 or 60fps.
@MichaelKincaiddontroughit
@MichaelKincaiddontroughit 8 жыл бұрын
thefurmanuk I like having the option to slow the video down in edit if needed so 48 or 60 is my "go to" setting. No other reason and not sure 24/30 or 48/60 make a big difference.

No disrepect, bro. But you need to go into Advanced settings and click that "Gimble Adjust". There is no way you are standing on property that is THAT slanted. (see 1:25, horizon looks like a Guillotine blade)

Does it know when to turn around and return when the battery only has enough power to make it back? Its amazing 1 battery can go 4 miles out and make it back without falling from the sky completely dead.

rich eldert I don't think it does.... I always make sure I'm well within 50% battery life ...more like 60% when I feel like I'm at halfway point.
@raptor3dpilot
@raptor3dpilot 8 жыл бұрын
rich eldert: it does know how much power is required to make it home. If you look at the top of the screen, just below the information bar, there was red/yellow/green bar. In that bar, you see an H, that is the amount required to make it home. if the battery gets to that point, it will automatically initiate return to home unless you cancel it.

Enkeixpress uhh I definitely would go that far! haha. I did read in the manual that it won't let you fly in "no fly zone", but idk how true that is.
@MGRogue

FPVJunkie I believe the Go app asks for confirmation that you've been authorized to fly in class D areas so you're entirely responsible for your actions if anything goes wrong, but yes there are places like really close to airports where it won't let you fly near it at all. Just stop and land I think, or not take off at all. Like the Phantom 4.

so the yellow. line guides you/ tells you how to get home or is there any other indicator to manually fly home? can you both pan and tilt the camera independent of the mavic or only tilt and for panning you have to yaw the aircraft? thank you

Hi you are the person i need to talk with. When the Mavic was on the ground, did you turn off anything before you took off? A few days ago i hovered over a puddle of water and mine went up in the air so i wonder if water fools the censors.

You can get 4.3 miles or more on the battery at about 15 miles in an hour with 0 wind and optimal reception conditions according to DJI. Lots of people have 3 miles + with no problem. Wouldn't be flying that long over the lake.

My old Phantom3Pro can go up to 4600m (2.85miles LOS) before it lost the Video Feed and RTH kicked in. Will Mavic go futher than p3p??? Btw fly higher to gain more range, works for me....

you should fly furthest until you have 55% battery left so you have enough to return it home. will you still get the map view in the corner if you lose the hd feed connection? if you lose the hd feed will you still get a feed but at lower resolution? if you lose connection at what speed does it automatically return to home?
