Great video as always Bo! Also the charger has build in cable to charge controller. Better than in Mavic Air when you have to put USB-C-MicroUSB adapter. Can wait for your test of the camera! My M2Pro came yesterday also. So excited!

Good catch, yeah this is a very complete kit. Im really liking it. Fascinating how they got it to look so small, but rounding / buldging the surfaces that used to be flat, they REALLY stuffed this one to keep the dimensions down.

The MA charger has two usb ports I can charge my battery, my controller and my phone.

you can do same thing with M2pro charger, it has two cables one for drone battery and one for controller. That's why only one usb port.

OH TOTALLY - I like the H and use it to haul a 360 camera right now - but hate the stick dead-center point. its so rough to fly compared to fine adjustments you can do on the M2pro, that bird is smooth as butter compared. and the image quality.. wow. BTW I got the combination screen/controller a while back and that got me the same situation as the H, where I don't need to fiddle with my iphone to get it stuffed into the controller.

Hi Bo, Love your reviews and your background knowledge on cameras. Been flying Evo past month and last night got the P4P out and still just love image quality, but not the size especially for travel. Would truly appreciate your input on camera quality with P4P vs the new MP2. Thinking of selling the P4P but sitting on the fence and anxious to hear everyone’s opinion who has had both units. Appreciate any time you have.

Hey Ronald, im doing numbers on these two along with the M2pro right now. Short story, the EVO do very well with its smaller sensor, and and almost head to head with the P4pro, the biggest difference is noise levels for lowlight / night imaging where the larger sensor have an advantage. That said, Im with you, I love how portable the mavic / evo products are, for me personally they have replaced the P4p

Thanks Bo. I’m in agreement. I’m pretty happy with the Evo as well, with the exception of low light scenarios as you had mentioned. Thinking of selling the P4P and replacing with the Mavic Pro 2 and was curious if you thought the image quality of the Mavic Pro 2 was as good if not better than the P4P. Thanks for what you do and I’ll wait to see what else comes of your Evaluations. I’m no expert, but I think I’m getting better each day. Here is my latest video I did last week in Alaska. Please excuse some of the water spots. Hard to avoid at times. This was with Sony AX 53, Rylo 360 and Autel Evo. Little rocking of the boat at times too. If you have a moment someday to watch. Im amazed how they pulled that off, amazingly fast shipping, I "thought" i mentioned the build in USB port for charging the controller in passing. but might have forgotten. I normally pop boxes open and assemble the bird completely before packing it back in the box for the "unbox" and i was a little flustered not finding parts right away when doing it this way, definitely are more organized with a dry-run before video.. sorry bout that. I will go back to unboxing after checking the parts ha ha.

Thats a really good question. I have been begging Yuneec for a tester so I could measure the camera. they don't seem to be speaking to me. soooo. That said, the Mavic2 pro have adjustable f.stop 10bit DLOG h.265 100mbps Yuneec is not promoting any of those "feature check-boxes" sooooooo.. my guess is that the E90 probably is comparable to the P4pro but not the Mavic2pro GUESSING here. Yuneec, help me out here, prove me wrong please ;-)

Bo, thanks for your unboxing. Looking forward to a full flight review. Also, check on sensor. Hasselblad stated in a Verge interview not long ago that Sony makes all their sensors. I'd also offer that this camera is not Hasselblad built, but rather designed by them, and utilizes their color engine

Don't see why not, the CrystalSky screen is essentially a android-tablet with a very bright screen. you will need one of the aftermarket adapters to mount it.

no way the phantom is dead, it's just in need of an update. There is a good place for the p5 in-between inspire and mavic 2 pro. Something with micro 4/3 sensor, swappable lenses, waterproof, etc. I agree that the p4p is dead though, unless you are in dyer need of a mechanical shutter and 4k 60. Otherwise, the p5 hopefully is on the horizon.

We are saying the same thing. 1. the $1500 product known as the phantom 4pro, is now succeeded by the Mavic2pro 2. there are definitely a need and a desire for a phantom sized interchangeable lens platform, but this will not be the consumer category, so if still named phantom, that will probably be shifted to the page of pro tools (pretty sure there are still another DJI announcement this year) *im thrilled using the xDynamics evolve m43 at the moment, exactly because its smaller than my inspire1 even. there are definitely a market for exactly that.

Just my two cents about the 4x zoom for the Mavic 2 zoom at 2k (FHD) resolution. Simply by cropping the 4k video into 2k (FHD), you'll get 2x "electronic" zoom (similar to the Anafi's 2.8x zoom, which is larger due to an intrinsic larger pixel number of the sensor). Then, multiplying the 2x opical zoom, you'll get a total 4x lossless zoom capability at 2k (FHD) video.

Which is what 99.9999% of computer users have sitting in front of them. That is why when I read all the 4k hype kiddies I have to laugh. They don’t have the computers to effectively process true cinematic 4k, hell they can’t display it either. That is like a 21mp camera. You can never display the true image unless you print it. Downsampled to 2k means you really only need a 2mp camera. Very few of us have 13x19 or larger printers, LOL Those of us that do will love the hell out of the Pro.

Zoom is a totally different ball of wax, that sail, would say its the one 90% of the world should buy being its a great camera, and have the utility of zooming, yet I think most are going for the pro because of the extra camera spec's even if most users will never really be able to see this clearly or use that extra spec.

As for the extra props, you would think they could sent 8 props total for a $1,500 drone. what can they cost them a buck or two to make all their loyal customers happy. a SMALL investment on their part to me says "hey were here and we got your back" heres a set of props on us happy flying. Awesome Bo! You’ll still need ND filters to lower exposure. It’s not good to use extreme apertures at the end of the lens’ range due to diffraction. Every lens has a sharpness sweet spot somewhere in the middle of the aperture range.

I was trying to stay out of diffraction, just because its yet another layer of complexity. but no doubt, this lens is probably best around f.4-f5.6 ish I found that these small diameter lenses don't seem to be best at 8 like most of the older lenses were. oh and I have had a tendency to shoot glass at wide open most of my life ha ha.

As I told you over the weekend, as a None DJI Fan, I'm very impressed with their recent operation, R&D and production. A lot to learn from them. Elon Musk should learn from DJI NOT to pre promise things before they are ready. DJI had their acts together this time and they are selling a ton, because customers are hot and ready to buy on the day of announcement. Plus, it's too late for competition to copy stuff. DJI is getting all those customers.

LOL well actually, pretty sure this is not one of my favorite unbox videos, i made a complete fool of myself by not following my regular process of always opening a box first, so I know where everything goes ha ha. Eh.. the M2 have zoom remember? I could be completely wrong, but i strongly suspect we have probably seen the last phantom launch, the new m2 pro & zoom both fly circles around the P4pro, longer, faster, obstacle avoidance, great cameras (the pro is a better camera than the 4pro) but I don't "know" for sure.

I see your points good Sir ... but here is what I think... I think DJI is capable of making one magic pro that has a 1 inch sensor and that can zoom. I believe they decided to release two versions either because they haven't worked out the kinks yet and had to release something before it got too late .. Or ... they would rather bleed pockets until they decide to release the new tech. I also believe that DJI is always pushing aggressively forward and thus already have camera tech more advanced than what was released in the M2 an M2Zoom. I believe we will see those in the P5... possibly with a sensor larger than 1 inch, maybe even micro four thirds ... Who knows, we are both speculating right? Regardless however, I don't think DJI is suicidal, so I see no reason for them to kill the original flagship drone with their premiere travel drone. All the tech from the M2 and M2Zoom can fit into a Phantom platform and leave additional real estate for 1) A larger camera 2) larger processors 3) better wind resistance 4) possibly larger motors 5) interchangeable lenses 6) **stuff I forgot to mention ... Based on the aforementioned, I'm going to wait. If you are right and the phantom has been killed by the mavic ... then I'll likely get the M2 but if I am even partially right, I will get the P5 ... Until then, I continue to love the mavic air.. Love your videos (**except that statement you make in this one LOL**) Cheers!
