DJI Mic 2 is another step in the right direction to making audio easier for all creators! I know there is a controversy on the audio disparity between the two transmitters. Hello Oleg, thank you as always! I do like Mic 1 and understand why you would want to keep it. But I honestly think 32 bit float is actually great for Vloggers...who are active! Let's say scooter vlogging or hiking or doing sports...lots of unforeseen loud voices and noises!

The reason I upgraded, rightly or wrongly, was because the mic with the Pocket 3 Creator Combo didn't seem to stay on all the time when I turned to Pocket 3 off. The Mic 2 mics do, so it was worth it to me. I don't really use Deadcats, instead just putting the mic in my shirt pocket with no discernable difference. Good vid!

Hello Oregon friend...that's strange to hear about your Mic 2 Creator combo. I know they have a setting to have them automatically turn off to not waste battery life. I'm not sure if it's a toggle or an update we can't control. Yeah, I was doing that with my broken deadcat on the Mic 1 version.

01:23 I use that Zoom H1 with a SONY stereo lapel mic. instead of a mono wireless mic.

Adam--I really liked the multiple angles. That's the way to do a top-down unboxing! I agree, the DJI Mic 2's are worth upgrading to for the compatibility alone. The bluetooth may not sound great on some devices but because it sounds great with the Pocket 3 and Action 4, that would lead me to believe that bluetooth can sound better in the future with other devices. DJI is really wrapping everyone into their ecosystem. As long as they don't exploit it the way Apple has, I'm okay with it.

Hi! That’s a nice piece of accessory. I just picked up Action 4 and was wondering what’s the basic best set up for outside strolls just like your Phuket video or Vietnam. Also what setting best for indoors with ambient lighting like In restaurants or shopping malls. Do you always keep in “pro” mode? I plan to use it for vacation. I’m not content creator or extreme sport’s athlete

Hello Sochea! Yeah, the best settings for outside would be d-log and utilize the shutter speed bump. But some like the normal color profile, so take that into consideration. Regarding indoors, I generally don't record indoors since the Pocket 3 is so much better. But if I had to, I would record for sure in D-Log and utilize the 180 shutter rule (i.e...24 FPS/50 shutter speed). I would keep ISO at 100-1600 or 3200 if you are okay with grain. Generally I keep in pro mode, but the Action can handle Auto well, just make sure you change the Sharpness to -2 and Noise reduction to -1. Those are my suggestions 😃 Hope that helps!

Wondering if you know yet - are you able to have the mic transmit to both the pocket 3, action 4 and the receiver all at the same time? If so that would be amazing to have audio go to multiple recorders at the same time such as your sony and the 2 DJIs!

Thank you BMad! Yeah, I'm not sure about that capability with the transmitter. I would imagine you would only be able to do one per camera. But, I just used the one Mic and synced it to all three cameras in post for this particular video. It was easy since they all recorded at the same time.

😂...I like how they have the freedom to be agile and do what they want with the momentum of the drones. Their DJI Mimo app sets the bar incredibly high! Sony's implementation is horrid to hook up remotely to your camera!

Dji mic 2 only good at paper ufortunately. Standalone using or with bluetooth use it gives some synthetic muffed records.. I deactivated noise cancel and low cut filter but no luck.. It needs serious firmware updates.

Oh no Firat! Sorry to hear that you are having problems with it. I'll admit I'm not an audiophile so the synethic muffed records don't seem to be noticeable to me. You were right in turning off Noise cancellation and low-cut since you can do that in post. DJI seems to be pretty good with firmware updates, so let's hope they fix your issues!

Hello, good question. I need two mic's because when I go out vlogging with my wife she needs her own. The Pocket 3 supports two mics without the receiver, but I'm hoping the Action 4 will at some point or the Action 5. Not having to connect the receiver is a big feature for me when it comes to vlogging with these two small cameras and being able to have both myself and my wife connected. The transmitter is so that you can connect any non-DJI cameras that can take lightening, usb-c, or 3.5 mm jack.

About the controverse of disparity between the 2 transmitters? Yes indeed, you can hear it on some videos by youtubers who have made a video dedicated to this problem, but as a musician and amateur sound engineer who's all about sound, I say: who cares for spoken voices? If the Mic 2 were a pair of stereo mics for music, I'd be the first to scream, because that would be intolerable! But I wouldn't recommend them for music at all. I've tried them for Voice/ guitar dual, and they're not made for it: the pocket 3's internal mics are better for music, for example. For spoken voices, Mic 2 are just fine :) Est ce que tu m'acceptes dans ton club des fans de DJI, cher Adam ? :) :) :)

@@TravelingAhn Oh you can try them, maybe it will be interesting to have the 2 mics to make a mix between voice and guitar, but with only one Mic 2, I prefer the pocket 3 internal mics, it's more immersive and frequencies are best (that the way I record "the long and winding road" on my channel :) ) but they're won't replace good studio mic like I use on my "C'est toi que je t'aime" of course 🙂
