This may be my favorite video of yours to date--because it will keep me from having incidents like one last week. I love this DJI mic system, but my interview subject must have tapped the clipped-on mic, because after a couple of minutes, recording stopped (andI had plenty of battery). Having the Auto Record will eliminate much stress, especially when I'm doing a one-man-band shoot. Thank you!
@JasonRobertsVideo Жыл бұрын
Thanks Steven, there is also the ability to lock transmitters "REC Stop Lock: off by default. If REC Stop Lock is on, the user cannot stop recording when pressing the REC button to avoid unexpected operation" - also check my updated setup vid if you haven't already seen it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/amTGeoRujrCLbtU It is good DJI continues to add features like this via firmware updates.

You do great videos very simple to understand and very clear. I have a question and I don't know if you can answer it. I'm trying to update the firmware for the receiver. I have been able to update to the latest firmware for the transmitters. However, I cannot update the firmware for the receiver. When I try to update it. It tells me that the volume drive is full. I make sure it is the correct drive and it is the no name volume for the receiver. What can I do? Do you have an idea? firmware v02.00.72.87
@JasonRobertsVideo Жыл бұрын
Hi that sounds weird - I haven't seen that myself - make sure you are copying the firmware files that has _rx_ not _tx_ - you need the _rx_ file for the receiver. If that doesn't work you could try doing a factory reset or reboot of the receiver, download the firmware again and try the update process again.

Quick question, perhaps even trivial. Does automatic recording start every time recording starts from the camera and stops when recording is stopped? I have the osmo action 3 combination with dji mic... if I take 6 separate shots, will I have 6 separate backup files? or will it start backing up when the first recording starts, generating a single file until the end of the sixth recording?
@JasonRobertsVideo Жыл бұрын
No, the camera does not control the internal recording. Auto recording if enabled starts when you power on the transmitters.

Hey thanks for the nice Videos. I am looking for a Solution on my FX3 to internally record MIC 1 and 2 as well as Using the internal mic of FX3 since its so good. So I dont wanne loose that for getting the DJI Mic. Like: Interview: two persons connected....one third comes...dont have the time to switch. My shotgun is a bit to big to use it always. There its no Problem with 4 Channels. I know I can always press record and do it seperately...but have to sync every sound and I really miss that. Like: Channel 1 DJI 1, channel 2 DJI 2, Channel 3 FX3

Great question - don't have an FX3 so don't know sounds like you might need some more equipment to pull that off though?. Looks like it has 3 inputs but without seeing one I don't know - the handle has XLR inputs with Phantom power?

Thank you for all the DJI mic related video. Jason, I have a question hopefully you can answer. When I record internally to the transmitter (not using the camera), it seems like the volume is so low even when I increase the transmitter volume to max. Do you know what I am doing wrong?
@JasonRobertsVideo2 жыл бұрын
Hi Michael - with the transmitter gain set to max then you should get a reasonable level signal - i have mine set to about +3 DB and that seems fine for my voice level - with a little bit of volume increase in post

I just recevied my DJI mic set and the firmware that was preloaded is v02.00.72.83. Is it safe to think that this is a newer firmware than what is listed on the firmware update page (v02.00.72.80)? Thanks!

Thanks a lot for this clear review of the update. I noticed a bug with the two transmitters with the firmware v02.00.72.80. I've set them both on auto record as you suggested, but when I manipulate them (and tap on the top of the unit - where the jack port and the built in microphone are), it randomly stops the recording for a few seconds (the red light swithes of, and then switches on again). Could you tell me if you encounter the same issue ? Best

Hi I have a question… I might be missing something simple here but I just did an interview using the dji mics and when I've come to edit the interview I can get each mic sounding great on their own even done a little mix within logic on each separate mic. But then when I come to edit the full interview I of course have to put both voices on top of each other and sync them up. I've managed to do that fine but they just sound a bit naff because we're sitting apart from each other in the interview you can here the other person speaking slightly in each mic. Am i correct in saying the only way to elimnate this is to go through the whole interview bit by bit and cut out the other mic when the other person is speaking? This would be a very very lengthy process so I'm hoping for someone to jump on this post and save my day...or should i say my week! The way I recorded the interview is a mic on both people abs clicked record on both transmitters then dragged the files of each transmitter and loaded them into filmora 11. I recorded in mono so have separate recordings for each transmitter. What am I doing wrong? 🙏
@JasonRobertsVideo2 жыл бұрын
Hey Roberto - great question - just remember that the mics are omni directional and will pick up other sounds like the other interview person - as a quick fix you could apply a gate effect on each mic track to "auto mute" the volume when the sound level is below a specific volume - this might allow you to automatically cut out the lower level volumes when the other person is speaking.
@RobertoCampoliOfficial2 жыл бұрын
@@JasonRobertsVideo thanks for your reply I will look into adding a gate but if I have a few people in the interview and have 4 dji mics this will be a huge problem 🙈 that was my future plan. Thanks again for your reply I really appreciate it :)

When pressing the Mono button on the transmitter it doesn't do anything. No Safety icon nor stereo option. And I just updated the firmware, still nothing. Ideas?
@JasonRobertsVideo Жыл бұрын
Hi Alex, I'm sorry I don't understand the question fully as the transmitter does not have a mono button - check out this new DJI Mic user guide video that takes you through everything: kzbin.info/www/bejne/amTGeoRujrCLbtU
@almannone Жыл бұрын
@@JasonRobertsVideo Sorry, I meant receiver. In the menu of the receiver the mono button takes you to the next menu w/mono button and tx1/tx2 L/R buttons. But none of these buttons do anything. In other words I can't select stereo or 'safety mode' nor can I choose which mic is L/R.
@almannone Жыл бұрын
Ok, I just read that IOS devices don't support Stereo mode. What I'm really interested in is the Safety Mode. Why does pressing the Mono button NOT give me that option?
@JasonRobertsVideo Жыл бұрын
Hi Alex - mono with safety is based on a stereo signal that's probably why it doesn't work on iPhone.
@almannone Жыл бұрын
@@JasonRobertsVideo Solved the issue. It seems that ISO devices don't support Stereo or Mono Safety. And you have to set the transmitter volume to say -6 for safety and receiver volume to say +6 AND then hit record on both the IOS device and the transmitter. This will replicate the mono safety feature non-IOS devices get. Then import the video and the track off the transmitter and sync.
