QUICKTAKE 1. manual white balance 2. lock exposure in 3. expose darker (-.3, -.7 or -1) than default 4. use ND filters ("sunglasses" for your lens) 5. fly close to objects too 6. get different angles/directions 7. tell a story (close to medium to wide is a basic guide) 8. go top-down! Only drones and helicopters can get this perspective 9. create contrast with your light. Don't blast everything with light 10. put the sun off to the SIDE 11. shoot early in the morning or late in the day (golden hour is BEST) 12. editing: bring midtones down and shadows UP for an easy cinematic grade 13. no jerky footage 14. stabilize in post 15. copy other drone footage you like to watch

The Mini 2 is such a powerful drone for its size. The footage used in this video was from this adventure video kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZfVd3mcobiGaNE Cameras have become so good that now it comes down to finding cool stories to tell with them!
@DungarooTV3 жыл бұрын
Hi, I flew my Mini 2 again today and noticed that as I pan the the Drone from left to right (and vice versa) using the left stick the footage is a jaggy but panning side to side using the right stick is much more smoother - I noticed people avoid filming while turning the drone because of this - is this a common problem? I filmed in auto 4K 30 fps. Cheers,

Great video but was hoping frame rate would be mentioned. Can you elaborate here which frame rate you shoot at for a more cinematic look? With my dslr I find 24 fps gives a more cinematic aesthetic. But how about for the mini 2? Thanks!

Dear Jeven, your videos are simply the best on the web and I really thank you for your suggestions. I have just 2 hours of Mini2 flight experience and I have a question: in your videos it looks like you can "follow" your car and I thought this is a feature that Mini2 CANNOT do. So these "follow me" footage are done with a Mini2 or another drone? In case you have a video tutorial on this subject, can you please show a link? Thanks for your fantastic videos. Federico

DJI doesn’t recommend to fly your drone when snowing as it can damage your motors.

Great video. As far as locking the AE to underxpose a bit, I fully agree. I've been a photographer for 40 years, and that was one of the tricks used, espcially with invertible film, to saturate colors and overall getting a better image. I've also noticed that on DSLR it works exactly the same, a little underxposure (1/3 to 1/2 f/stop below) gives the best results. Being digital, the same applies to drones. Well done !

Hi, is it neccesary to follow the 180 rule? Where you set the shutter to double the size of the framerate. I want to shoot in 4k 60fps. Is it a huge difference in smoohtness? Because if i use the rule, i have to use ND filters wich is anoying on a cloudy day where the sun changes every 5 minutes. So do you shoot with 1:120 shutter speed or just film with chanfging shutter speed?

Amazing to see something so exotic as snow covered desert. Good tips also. I noticed that my worst beginners mistake is fluency in flight and ability to follow object (e.g initiating manual orbit and following moving object while controlling fly path). What I would like to have in post is ability to keep constant optical flow (to speed up video where drone slows down)
