I've been flying the Mini 3 more than a couple of times now and all I can say is, it's as exciting as flying the Mini 2, possibly even more! No complaints so far!

I have the DJI Mini 3. Yes it an amazing hybrid of DJI M3 Pro with DJI M2. I find this drone comfortable for beginner pilots.

When you get comfortable flying looking through the screen, there is no confusion when flying the drone back to you. It’s like being in the pilot seat, left is left, right is right.😎

Glen, thanks for the post and the Mini 2 is an exceptional quad too and you're getting about 85% the same experience as the Mini 3, except for the larger sensor and longer flight time. Honestly, once it's in the air they feel really similar. Unless you really need the larger sensor, stick with what you have, I'm sure DJI is hard at work on a Mini 4 for the springtime. Just guessing :)

I bought some Master Air Screw Props for mine thinking they would be compatible with them being for the Mini 3 family and now fitting them the Motors are different. Can you confirm if true. When you shop for parts they always state Mini Pro I thought drone apart from sensors, camera were the same.

Supposedly the propellers are the same between the mini 3 and pro but they use different screws to attach them to the craft.

No, Mini 3 Pro doesn't have obstacle avoidance when it is in sports mode.

This is a mini 3 new lesser featured model, lower entry price for entry level pilots and those that don't need flight avoidance as a main feature like the mini pro 3.

Bill, thanks for the post and if I had a time machine, I'd probably go back to 1976. That was a good year for me where I had a full head of hair and was heading off to college, but time marches on. As for this review, its about the new Mini 3 drone that DJI just released, not the Mini 3 Pro. The new Mini 3 is a budget-friendly version of the Mini 3 Pro with a lot of really advanced features at a lower price. It also fits into a Christmas stocking so I hope you have a wonderful holiday.

@@Dronevalley Wasn't aware of the "Mini 3 Lite". I knew you'd done a DJI Mini 3 Pro review 6 months ago, with several follow-ups, which I watched, as I have a Mini 3 Pro of my own .. now my 'go-to' UAV. Right now, weather in NE Ohio is a factor in getting out. I'd torn the meniscus in my left knee earlier in the year and that really slowed down my ability to get out and shoot some video as well. I'm now finally able to walk without a cane, so looking forward to a much more active 2023. All the best to you & yours over the holidays & 2023.

I'm finally heading in for a knee replacement on the 22nd to get it sorted. I'm looking forward to a much more mobile summer! I hope you have a great holiday as well and your knee feels better soon. Iv notice most firmware updates are just government regulations where you cant fly

Thanks for the post and there are typically two types of updates that DJI sends to the drone. One if firmware that can introduce new features or fix issues they've uncovered with the drone. The other is an update to the DroneSafe database on the drone that protects you from flying in restricted airspace. Both of them are important and you should check for new updates every few weeks.
