Great run through of the four methods. Not sure if you know but on the Waypoint Hyperlapse you can go through the set up of all your waypoints and then save the flight plan ( top left 'hamburger' icon appears). Then you can return home and put in a fresh battery to execute. Also great for setting up your hyperlapse in the day and then executing it at night. You can still change your camera settings for the night flight to get the exposure right for streaky car lights :)

Hi, great video 😀. When i am using waypoints, who is the master ? Let me explain my question. For example : the interval the pictures will be taken is 2 sec. Length of the video 4 sec, that will be 100 pics. Time of flight 3.20 minutes, 200 sec. ! I set the Vmax to 1m/s. And now, the lenght of the waypointroute is 300 m. So when you count up the results, the waypointroute will not be finished, when the 100 pics have been shot. Or the other way, the route is only 100 m long, so the route has ended before the amount of 100 pics have been taken. You got an answer ?

Terrific Primer for hyperlapse. You did miss one spectacular feature among all these Hyperlapse modes -in my humble opinion anyway. Course Lock has an additional parameter you did not touch on or explore. SUBJECT. After "locking" direction, you select a subject in a similar, but slightly altered direction to left or right. Draw a box around it. Now, the drone will fly past it, panning to keep it center frame, and end up flying backward and AWAY from it. You can decrease altitude approaching and increase altitude after passing (manually) - another variable is flying backwards with the lock. Fly to subject. Turn 180° and lock course, turn 180 again and select (draw box) You have to sequence it this way because it requires course lock first before selecting subject (and tells you so, should you forget.) I've found these by flying literally thousands of hyperlapses since 2018. The Air 2S has a bug that won't let you extend the route after selecting subject, ive reported it, but so far no fix.

@@SlipstreamCreativeAgencyA good rule is to never let the battery get below 20% before immediately bringing it back to swap batteries. This leaves room in case anything happens along the way back (strong wind, lost connection requiring rth, etc). Continuing to fly below 20% (like in this case where you let it finish the hyperlapse) is really playing with fire and will lead to forced landings and/or a potential loss of the drone.

@JadeSambrook I know right. But 80% on the mini isn't long and I find it wants to return too soon. Funnily I've managed to control or cancel RTH a couple of times since without problems. Shame we can't get the big batteries in the UK.

Don’t think you can abort the force landing. You can only control the drone manually with sticks making sure you bring it back home. Did you work out? Why it went into Forced landing and didn’t allow you to return to home manually. Did you forget to set a setting to only return to home?
@SlipstreamCreativeAgency9 ай бұрын
Good question. RTH activates with 20% battery left, the drone was close so I cancelled RTH to finish the mission. When the battery gets a bit lower the drone initiates a force landing to ensure the drone safely lands and doesn't drop out the sky. So it's a good thing but clearly has a greater margin than I anticipated. Now I just bring it back with 25% battery or use Air 3 that has 46min battery life.
@mariomario..9 ай бұрын
How much battery did you have when the forced landing happened?
@SlipstreamCreativeAgency9 ай бұрын
Good question, I can't remember, but under 20%. Should have aborted mission. The drone was close and could have easily got home, scary when it takes over and you no control.
@mariomario..9 ай бұрын
@@SlipstreamCreativeAgency Yeah it should give you the option to override the forced landing.
@SlipstreamCreativeAgency9 ай бұрын
Well, actually, what happens is that I overrode the low battery RTH when it's at the very over cautious 20%. The drone then flies until it decides there's only enough juice to land. So you can't Override that as its a Failsafe to stop it dropping out the sky. So even though I knew it was quite OK to get back to me there's built safety. Which is sensible and now I just go with masses of extra margin. That's why I love the Air 3, 46 minutes of battery, and doesn't burn through it in strong winds as easily as the mini.

@@SlipstreamCreativeAgency Not only that you were over a busy roundabout and roads which on it's own you could argue lacks airmanship, but knowingly doing so with low battery I would suggest is in breach of Article 241 of the Air Navigation Order, if your drone had descended into the windscreen of a car on the magic roundabout all sorts damage and injury could have occurred. I have to question if you remained VLOS whilst orbiting..You also don't seem to know how the low battery functions work on your drone and why you couldn't cancel the auto land. This follows your incident with the Peregrine Falcons by the Abbey which is disturbing wildlife going against the drone code & general common sense. You are then advertising all this reckless behaviour under your corporate brand on KZbin. This is the reason why we are facing more and more restrictions and giving the drone world a bad name making life harder for commercial drone operators like me. For the sake of the hobby and industry please have a really good think about what you are doing with your drone, perhaps get yourself some qualifications like an A2CofC if you don't already and don't EVER let desperation make you take on unnecessary risks.
