The standard argument of the law-abiding KZbinrs and DJI-fanboys with the legal situation and the mandatory line of sight is formally correct but basically outrageous in this case: If DJI promises a range of 8km CE or 12km FCC and advertises this product with these exorbitantly high numbers, then it must at least partially correspond to reality. Porsche e.g. cannot specify a top speed of 300 km/h for the new entry-level model when the vehicle actually only 140 km/h and then come up with the argument: you are only allowed to drive at a maximum of 120 km/h anyway... Question to DJI: do you test your products before you launch them? Obviously not
@szoe1392 жыл бұрын
You will almost never be able to reach the maximum possible range. Of curse not. This key figure is achieved by all manufacturers under optimal conditions. It does not guarantee a minimum flight distance and is probably only suitable for a rough comparison of the signal strength of different devices from the same manufacturer. You are misinterpreting this number.
@thomasmartinez93932 жыл бұрын
Total nonsense, "Mister Fanboy". DJI Mavic 1 Pro was advertised with 4km range in the CE - I reached 7km. Mavic Air 2 was advertised with 6km in the CE, I reached 6.5km. Mini 3 Pro advertised with 8km range in the CE - I (and every other "Tester") just reached 3km with a lot of luck with an overall abysmal signal quality from the first 600m... A good piece of advice for you: Wake up from your dream wearing your rose-coloured DJI glasses.

I am overjoyed that 80% of people have bought a Smartcontroler with it, if only 20% of these report the connection stability and problems or even return it, I for me a writing in the right direction. A lot of trekking has been thrown at an Autel EVO Nano, everything has been tried (by various KZbinr) but it flies and has zero problem with connection stability (not even here in Europe = CE). Slowly the DJI fanboys are waking up. Personally, I think it's ridiculous that the DJI Mini 3 is supposed to fly in the city, so good luck. I would never fly in the city with such a thing. My Autel EVO Nano + has ZERO problem with distance and in the city, connection always there. So, good video from you, and hope it makes one or the other clear what is happening with User.

Ok I discovered the reason for poor range. The drone and RC transmit at lower power due to CE, which compared to FCC severely limits transmitter output power. This is activated automatically is you fly within the EU. This morning I managed to disable this limitation and repeated the test - the reception was PERFECT! So it's not that the Mini 3 Pro is a bad drone - it's the state regulations that are to blame!

Hendrick, thank you for the testing but there are a couple jof things I want to note. 1. It is not clear what caused the poor results in the last test. Some of us would like to know what that is so we don't make the same mistake. 2. I think some of us would like to see you do yet another range test to test the limits of what the mini3 is capable of since you didn't even cover half the distance of what it is supposed to do which is 12 kilometers. I would also like to see how it does flying around buildings, trees, boulders etc and how close you have to be. And sometimes people would like to do things like examine their roofs without having to climb up a dangerous ladder. It could come in handy for that if the signal isn't lost.
