👍🔥😎Perfect timing. Ordered my Neo on the 5th, then Last night and this AM was researching which controller/s should I be looking into. Info is out there but requires lots of time spent watching reviews and piecemealing that info. This summarized EVERYTHING I needed to know! Something you may want to make note of in your video, in the USA, the drone bundle w/a controller is not a thing, that only exists outside of the US. 😉 In the us the drone alone and a bundle with 2 extra batteries and charge cradle is all that is offered, controller has to purchased separately if you don’t already have one that is compatible.

@@WelshLad52 I asked this question on the wrong youtube channel I think cause he has not answered me and after extensive researching I have come to the conclusion you can't use the RC-N3 with the goggles3 and neo. So I purchased the FPV Controller 3 which is compatible with the googles 3 and neo. Hope this helps , Happy Flying!

You can fly manual with the controller 3 it has it’s own antenna I think, but the motion controller needs the goggles to work

I’m not 100% sure why but I think it has something to do with the transmission system. The Neo uses ocusync 4

It doesn’t give distance, but it’ll follow from about 10 feet. You can set distance from close, medium, and far. And height, you can set it from low, flat and high which again is it about 10 feet approximately

It’s hard to say, but I could see DJI doing that. They are definitely trying to be competitive when it comes to pricing so a cheaper set of goggles would also allow more people to get into the hobby. I don’t know for sure if they will, but I definitely hope they do

They already have the Integra goggles at $349, they just need to make the Neo compatible with them. The Integra's are great goggles for the price and will work with a wide range of drones.

Yes, the goggles 3 and the motion 3 are fully compatible with the neo. So if you do purchase the Avada 2 you’ll be able to use them with your Neo. You’re kind of have the best of both worlds with that set up

It uses the 04 transmission system from DJI and has a rated range of 10 km. However, the battery will be a limiting factor. I just uploaded a range test using a controller, but it would be very similar using goggles and motion controller

No, it will not be. That is very old technology. The transmission system is completely different with the DJI04. The spark still used a Wi-Fi signal.

O4 is rated for 20km, interesting that they claim only 10kms. I guess it comes down to the Neo's radio. Given the battery life I guess it saves money and weight not having to give the Neo the ability to remain connected over more than 10km. Range tests seem to show the Neo being able to do no more than about 4km (including return).

Compatibility has often been an issue for DJI's products forcing customers to upgrade to a full new set of hardware. I wonder if this is done with intent to make more cash or their software / hardware development teams are not able to manage software compatibility. From my experience working in tech in Asia, i suspect their software development team needs help with compatibility management. DJI's growth has been pretty quick so they must have issue with legacy systems / processes.

What's REALLY stupid is that the N3 controller they bundle with the flymore package does NOT concurrently bind with the goggles3 which are listed as an accessory. For that you need the FPV3 controller which you have to buy extra. SOOOOOOO bad.

I love DJI but I hate their habit of forcing you to buy new controllers / goggles / etc. Sorry but I'm not inclined to spend $1000 to fly a $200 drone. Either make the stuff backwards compatible at least 1 generation, or inform buyers that backwards compatibility will be available with a firmware update in the future. It's the least you could do for your faithful users. I have Goggles Integra, FPV 2 and motion controller 2, none of which will work with the Neo.
