I agree with you, for normal vacation footages during daytime, auto mode - normal color profile is best. It really helps me forget all settings like shutter speed and iso.

I like the D-Log M since I don't mind color grading a bit, but other than that, I think the Normal color is also a great option if you want to just have fun and not worry about extra steps that may break your creativity while having fun with the camera. Great content! and keep it coming.

I bought the Pocket 3 to have a simple to use camera when I don’t want to use my Sony a7cii. What I find is that auto exposure and normal color mode exposes faces way better. I just leave it in auto exposure, no ND filters and normal color mode.

The camera has so much to dive into and options to flick through like you mention, however is a bit daunting for some. Out of the box though i feel the auto mode provides all round good quality footage for start to end users, i also think that the gimble is a major part of why so many like this camera but also its very robust as seen in many videos about it. The Insta is great for film forget & upload users but they do hurt themselves with the marketing. the Gopro in my opinion gives you a feeling of once you buy it your left wanting more and to date has fallen behind. Dji offer sales support after sales updates which is a big thing from what i hear multiple users mention and the app for multiple use cameras makes life easy. Maybe i am bias though as i have DJI

I just shoot in Pro Normal Color profile and it works for me well enough. As long as I'm not comparing side by side, its suffice.

Oh nice, I've found I prefer D-Log M over Normal, but it will expose your face better!

Ahhh...welcome back from KZbin Lent! I have a new theory: I think that the Pocket 3 is doing some subtle HDR on Normal color profile to be able to achieve that high dynamic range to expose the face and maintain the highlights which is why it tends to look sharper and more contrasty. For me, I'm D-Log M whenever I'm filming myself because of my freckles and almost 50-year old skin. For most people, D-Log M isn't going to provide as much value. I don't mind the lack of ability to expose for the face because I think it's technically more realistic but if I were under 35 with no freckles or used makeup, I'd probably just go with the normal profile.

There was some jerking movement. You should put the joystick on Slow Mode.

Thank you for the feedback! Yeah, I do have the gimbal set on Slow Mode. However, I double-clicked the joystick to recenter the Gimbal. When you do that, the "Slow Mode" isn't utilized. But good catch on that!

No, I did take off the ND Filter when I shot in Auto Mode. Great question, I should have made that more clear!
