That looks really good with plenty of detail up close. It looks like the range is about 6" from the video which is plenty good! After watching I think the Pocket 3 will be in my future, thank you again for doing this. Side note, how do we teach our dogs to be more mindful when were filming? 🤣

If I bend to their level…playtime! lol. 6” sounds about right for focus distance. When I used the 2X feature the minimum focus distance was the same. The detail is not as strong though. The hand hold abilities KILL a phone and holding two items is very natural feeling. And…while testing yesterday in bright sun, the lcd screen is bright and crisp. I bought the camera only kit because I already have wireless mics I can plug in. The wireless DJI mic setup looks sweet though.

Hey Dan, is this going to be your go to cam for vlogging now? What were u using before?

Yes. I got it as an all around personal capture device. Prior to this I used Pocket 2, insta360 X2, and GoPro Hero 11. The Pocket 3 absolutely crushes them all in every category. It is a tad pricey but punches well above it’s weight class.

20cm or about 8" should be the closest focus on that camera, that's what the manual says.

I saw that too…weird thing is I am catching focus much closer than 8”. I haven’t measured but I’m closer to 4-5”.

nice video dan - i thought at first you were using 'product showcase' mode, but were you using the continuous focus mode then? thanks.

I used continuous focus and tapped the screen for focus if needed. Most times it got it straight away. Thanks for watching!!!

almost forgot lol. I also used the gimbal lock by pressing down and holding the joystick button. So…focus first then lock down the gimbal positioning to a hold position. Hope that helps
