I have dji 3.5mm to usbC mic adapter that I was using with pocket 1 and pocket 2 to connect my lav mic and it doesn't work with pocket 3, any suggestions why?
@EmeraldAudiovisual Жыл бұрын
That will not work anymore. Both the DJI Action (One) and the Pocket 1 and Pocket 2 used proprietary audio adapters, that were unique to those cameras. From the DJI Action 2 and onwards (including the DJI Osmo Pocket 3), DJI is using standard UAC (USB Audio) devices, as the ones, I have listed in the video description. The old adapters will not work with the DJI Osmo Action 3.
@PaulsMedia2024 Жыл бұрын
With latest firmware you can record both the wireless AND the internal mics simultaneously.
@EmeraldAudiovisual Жыл бұрын
Correct. But not the wireless mic and a microphone, that you attach via USB.

Hi! What cable would you use, when you want to charge the Osmo Pocket 3 and send a Tentacle Sync audio timecode signal at the same time? I need to record for 3 - 4 hours in one run, so I need external charging plus timecode to later sync with my external audio. Thanks a lot!!
@EmeraldAudiovisual Жыл бұрын
The way timecode sync works with DJI cams, is that you need to go into the menu for it to sync them. You can not continually feed them with timecode or genlock them. So if you continually want timecode, then you would want use the timecode from the audio track. In that case, I'd take a TentacleSync SynC E Mk2 and their audio + mic splitter cable. So you'd want one of the stereo audio adapters, that I've listed in the description. And then one of the two dual USB-C splitters.

@@EmeraldAudiovisual Thanks for that great feedback! I´ll try that. The video quality of the Pocket 3 is really great, so I´l try to use it instead of my FX30 when travelling. We´ll see how reliable it is.

I would like to ask, is there any way to connect a Roland CS-10EM binaural earphone to the DJI Osmo Poket 3 unit or the DJI mic2 unit in some way to make it work? I tried a cable with a split USB C mic and earphone mark to test it, but it did not work. If there is a way to do this, please tell us what to use.
@EmeraldAudiovisual Жыл бұрын
The mic port of the Roland earphone is TRS. If your UCB-C mic and earphone cable was TRRS, then that is the reason it didn't work. You need to match them properly. That's why I have marked all adapters in the description of the video with, if they are TRS or TRRS.

Good day sir I have tried my Rode Lavalier 2 mic that is TRS, then using the Saramonic SR-C2006 adapter. This set up does not work. How could I make this Lav mic compatible with the pocket 3?
@EmeraldAudiovisual Жыл бұрын
The problem is not the lav mic. The problem is your Saramonic SR-C2006. The original DJI Osmo Pocket and Pocket 2 used a proprietary USB microphone, so the SR-C2006 will only work with those two. From the DJI Action 2 and on (so Action 2, Osmo Action 3, Osmo Action 4 and Osmo Pocket 3), DJI changed to using a generic USB microphone interface. The only two Saramonic ones, that work with the Osmo Pocket 3 are the SR-C2001 and SR-C2003 as listed in my video description.
@Squidpaws- Жыл бұрын
@EmeraldAudiovisual thank you so much for your explanation. So the 2001 or 2003 will work with my lavalier 2 even if it's trs ? I know the lavalier plus trrs. Thanks again. I'll check your link to the correct adapter
@EmeraldAudiovisual Жыл бұрын
@@Squidpaws- Lavalier Go and Lavalier II are TRS. SmartLav+ is TRRS. The Saramonic SR-C2003 (which is what you should buy, because the SR-C2001 has a male jack) is TRS. Most of the other USB sound devices, that I've listed are intended for headsets, so are TRRS, but the two Saramonic ones are TRS.

Yes I discovered today that the usb mic disconnects when the extender battery runs out. What a bad design. Do you have a solution for this. I have a collection of usb c and 3.5mm adapters and none of them work. I would like a usb c splitter but most claim not to provide power. There is an endless list of things that are bad about this camera. Until dji fix the mic 2 audio problem for live streaming, I have no use for the camera.
@EmeraldAudiovisual Жыл бұрын
The only solution is to email DJI support and hope, it can be fixed in firmware. I don't use the extender battery because of it. Full stop.

@@EmeraldAudiovisual Thank you for putting the time and money into testing these cables. I purchased the ManJiaHui from Denmark and was glad to see it supplies mic and power at the same time. I already have an identical cable that doesn't work so I am happy. I just run the usb from a powerbank into the tripod adapter instead of the extender handle. I was able to get a firmware update from DJI support to fix the mic 2 audio problem when streaming so now I have the option for both mic 2 and usb C Cheers.

Thanks for the overview, can you please further elaborate on the comment at 2:52? "You can not use webcam and external mic other than DJI Mic 2". Can't use it in webcam mode while charging with external mic or can't use it with external mic at all?
@EmeraldAudiovisual Жыл бұрын
That refers to webcam mode only. You can not use an external microphone and have another data stream at the same time. RTMP doesn't depend on the USB port, so it is free for the microphone then.

@EmeraldAudiovisual9 ай бұрын
The way timecode works with the Osmo Pocket 3, you can't jam the metadata timecode continously. You can only do it before you start recording. You could however sacrisfy one of the two audio channels and record timecode to the audio track, then convert to metadata in post.

Thank you so much!!!! Such useful info nobody talks about. This is extremely critical for my use case. Could you tell me, since DJI support couldn't tell me, I wanted to know if I can record 2 microphones with the osmo pocket 3. Let's say I power on both DJI mic 1 microphones, and plug the reciever to the DJI osmo pocket. Could I record both the mics? I guess the output of the DJI mic reciever is stereo, so it's a basic question whether osmo pocket 3 can record incoming stereo signal through it's USB c. I understand you're busy, if you somehow have time to answer, I'd really appreciate your input though no worries. Cheers and keep up the good work
@EmeraldAudiovisual Жыл бұрын
Yes, you can record 2 microphones. You can either buy a second DJI Mic 2 (whenever they sell them seperately .. they don't do now) or you can use a DJI MIc 1 receiver with 2 microphones or you can use the Røde AI-Micro, that I've linked in the description, that takes 2 microphones with 3.5mm jacks. The DJI Osmo Pocket 3 does record a stereo channel indeed.
@LevanonMusic Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for your quick reply you absolutely rock! Just ordered through your Amazon link the osmo pocket 3, hopefully it worked! I'm thinking of buying the fulaim x5 and use both of their mics with the pocket, from what you're saying, looks like it'll work? fingers crossed! X
@EmeraldAudiovisual Жыл бұрын
@@LevanonMusicI've never tested the Fulaim X5. If that has a USB output on the receiver, it should work in theory. If it doesn't work, then the Saramonic SR-C2001 cable, that I've linked in the description is a stereo sound interface, that will make it work.

(minute 4:30 on this video)..!! I've just seen another video, where they showed the proper way to pair the DJI mic 2 with the Pocket 3. The DJI External Mic has 2 different way to pair. To pair with the reciever, you need to use the green ligth mode, & for the Pocket, you need to switch to the Blue ligth mode. In order to switch from one & other, you need to star the pair process, pushing the pair button, after that, press the record button for 3 second to change from green to blue. Then the pairing process with pocket 3 will start. While you maintan this mode on the dji mic 2, every time you turn on the mic & the pocket, they will be paired. This is great.!! But as soon as you need to pair again with the DJI mic reciever, you need to go back to the green ligth mode, & you need to do the same proces. Push the pair button, & then the record button to switch from blue to green, & then you will pair the reciever with the mic again. Hope this info helps you & your suscribers. God Bless you all..!!

i have the pocket 1 with the adapter to a wired mic and the crazy thing is u can't charge it while using that adapter. i'm fully aware of the abuse of power these companies use with their peripherals to generate more money, but this is just pathetic. the adapter is expensive enough as is, they could just sell another one with 2 inputs and generate more money. seriously not being able not charge while using an external mic? IMO says a lot about a company and how they view their customers.

DJI was still experimenting around a lot with the Pocket 1 and 2. They were new to the action cam market. Things really only got good with the DJI Osmo Action 4 and the Pocket 3.
