I liked the 1080 clip. I agree with you that it is just fine. The subject is the dog and how he is running, if one is worried about the background sharpness, wouldn't one be missing the point of the clip?

Agreed. Thanks for the feedback.

In low light, comparing 120 and 240 is less than ideal, since the shutter speed is so high for 240. . . and I'd assume the ISO as well. I was amazed it 240 still looked decent. Bright lighting is a huge factor in a comparison like this and would really level the playing field. . .

100% honest, the 240fps hurt my eyes. The picture was not sharp at all. Glad that you did that comparison! Thanks :)

Helpful explanations! Is there a reason you think it would be better to film in the slo mo setting vs just filming it in 120FPS and slowing it down in post?
@ttl_channel3 ай бұрын
The P3 does not support 120fps in the standard video mode - only up to 60fps.

The 1080p 240 FPS footage looked very blurry, it looked like it was upscaled from lower resolution. Is this the effect of higher ISO. Or maybe at 240 FPS they do record lower resolution/do some binning? I noticed it in my footage as well, 1080p 240 FPS image look significantly blurrier than the 1080p recorded at 60 FPS.

I agree, although the light was getting quite low when I recorded that and the ISO was up to around 600. Also, I assume (need to verify) that the slo-mo mode uses a lower bit-rate.

An excellent and detailed review, thank you! Would you say the slomo quality out of this cam is considerably better than the slomo from flagship phones? How about vs Osmo Astion 4?

Thanks. Don't have an OA4 to compare with but might be worth looking into.

Good evening, thank you for sharing this amazing video. I would like to ask a question please. The Pocket 3 just arrived and I've already done some tests, but only by "eye". I do video editing and my eye is quite trained, but I haven't seen a difference in video quality between filming with the "Normal" and "D-Log" options. Yes, it's certainly a softer image, but in practice I don't see a leap in image quality. Can you see it? I don't know if you use the Pocket 3 often, can I ask you if you use it with the "Normal" option or with "D-Log"?* Thank you
@ttl_channel9 ай бұрын
The difference is that the "normal" mode applies a default color profile. D-Log is intended for users who wish to color-grade for themselves, as the resulting file is easier better suited for this. DJI provides a "D-Log M to Rec.709" LUT (basically a presets file), which makes a good starting point, upon which to apply your own customizations. Hope that helps.

My thoughts on the slo mo audio. Perhaps it is useful if someone wants to speak instructions or audible markers for editing purposes? I am a REP, so I could see myself calling out the names of different rooms in a property. Or when shooting multi unit buildings, maybe I would call out the apt. number. I can't think of a single time that I have ever recorded in slo mo without the intent of it being B roll.

Good points. Keep in mind also, you could split the audio track and use it at regular speed to narrate different parts of the SloMo clip.

How do you sync up the shorter audio clip with the longer 4k120 video clip in Davinci Resolve? It won't let me stretch the audio file to match the longer video clip.
@ttl_channel9 ай бұрын
I did the voiceover separately.
@bladerealm1249 ай бұрын
@@ttl_channel do you know how to utilize the shorter audio clip to match the longer slow motion video clip? ("Stretch" the audio file)
@ttl_channel9 ай бұрын
I would think that DR can slow down the audio file, but if not, there are other apps that will do that. Of course, the slowed-down audio track will sound strange, so a better option (if it’s speech) would be to cut the normal speed audio into segments and space them out.
