For most people who don’t have any kit the combo makes sense. For a pro user the standard is good enough as we have other cameras and mics and know how to sync audio. Also it will never be a main camera and just a fun occasional use item if you usually shoot on a modern mirrorless

Finally someone to confirm that the dji mic will also work in the other usb c ports and not just the bottom one. I mount my pocket on a tripod so plugging into the bottom isn't an option. Thankyou.

Yes!! I finally found a video that answers my question. I knew you can use the DJI Wireless Mic 1 with the Pocket 3 but I was wondering if plugging it into the Grip Extension it would still work instead of just the bottom. Thank you.

I mainly went with the combo pack for the mic, the Pocket 2 mic isn't going to work for the Pocket 3. I too decided to just get the Polarpro ND filters since I've used those before. I'm pretty happy with my purchase the video quality and low light performance of the Pocket 3 is outstanding.

Great time to preorder those PolarPro filters too since they have that discount going on. But yeah, that wireless mic on the Pocket 3 is NICE. I’m just assuming when the DJI Mic 2 set comes out, that it’ll be able to pair with the Pocket 3. That’s just a guess though, so picking up the mic with this set and then the DJI Mic 2 later, I wouldn’t need 3 transmitters. Then again, I probably could have sold the mic separately too. It’s too late for me now lol

The combo is actually good value in my opinion. You have all the gear, but its not as seamlessly integrated as the kit combo.

Yeah, I probably should have talked about how the Creator Combo is still an amazing deal, especially if you don’t have all the random accessories that I have. For my workflow, having accessories that work with any camera I pull out is just more ideal.

I bought the combo just because of that wireless mic and the carrying case even though I aleady have the dji mic one, setting it up is a hassle, i can just live it on my main camera kit

I need to make a channel for the doggo lol! Funny enough, I actually suggest the Creator Combo to most people now if they think they need that microphone. I ended up buying the mic ($99) and the wide angle lens ($49) and my total was $667. For another $2 I could have got the tripod, battery handle, and case. BUT I think just having the camera is good enough, whether you go with the Basic Kit or Creator Combo.

You can use it as a remote to start/stop recording and take pictures from afar. The sound out of it is great too, especially if you plan on talking to the camera. Good luck with your decision. Everything you hear in this video is straight from the internal mics of the Pocket 3. I didn’t manipulate it in any way except to raise/lower the volume in post.

I've ordered the basic kit + the battery handle. I want the camera for vacations and not vlogging. I thought of using a power bank, but having the handle is more convenient and the battery in the handle gets used for that in the camera and the camera shows the amount of power in each item. I definitely will use the wrist strap. It could save me from losing the camera.

That battery handle is really nice, especially if you’re doing long shoots. And you can charge the battery handle when it’s not connected and keep filming with the Pocket 3. I think I actually want that handle now 🤣

Yeah, that’s the problem I was having, trying to decide. After using it for a while, I think the only thing I really wish I had from the Creator Combo is the Mic. But rumors are that the DJI Mic 2 set will be announced soon and can be used with the Pocket 3 (just like the mic it comes with). Good luck with your decision, let me know if you have any questions.

Oh, the Creator Combo is definitely a great deal, especially if you don’t have any of the accessories because it’s everything you need to get out and start filming. I think the biggest value out of it is the microphone. The test shots, I used 4K/24, manual exposure with 1/50 shutter speed and limited the ISO Range to 50-1600. Auto white balance. Color profile D-Log M, which I then corrected using the LUTs on DJI’s website. Let me know if you have any other questions. Also, “siopaomaster”, Filipino ka ba?

That’s true. I think the protective case does a good enough job for me. And I usually just throw it into whatever camera bag I’m using for the day which usually has separators to keep it from banging against everything in the bag. But in a regular backpack, I can see the case coming in handy.

You know that you can buy only one transmiter and one reciber, so you complete the setup of dji mic. Right now this is posible with the version 1, so the new one will be posible. By the way i need this camera!

It’s possible with the version 1, but that only comes in a pouch. I don’t think there’s a way to get the charging case without getting the full set. Keeping everything together with that charging case and only having to plug one thing in is a game changer (not that dramatic, but it’s really nice lol)

@@alexanderkapsiotis8050 Technically for image quality it can if you record at max settings on iPhone 15 Pro (4k60, log, ProRes 422 HQ), however, stabilization on the Pocket 3 and form factor are much better for handheld video.

@@FriedChairs The edge for the pocket is the motion blur that comes with the attributes you mentioned. Motion blur on phones will be jittery because of their "ibis".

Funny you say that, just posted a comparison video an hour ago 🤣. I prefer the details out of the Pocket, but I think iPhone did better with the highlights. That’s in auto mode though, haven’t had much time to mess around with the Pocket in D-Log M or HLG yet. The dog is my cameraman, she only gets low angle shots though 🤣

It was a bit too wide, you could get closer with the camera, but when I was closer, you could see all the unnecessary movements in my hand/pocket. I think the best way when filming that close would have been to just use the joystick to pan the camera around rather than the whole Pocket itself.

@@ROAMitRALPH ive hrard the pan motion is bit fast and not easy to get right. I wish there was a controlled pan option because everything is in the body to do it. I wanted to put it on my small RatRig slider and do a slide and track the centre of the product - that would have given me a fast to set up curved movement in frame. Same thing youd get from a motorized automated pan head on a slider, if that makes sense.

@@markshirley01 there’s a setting in the options to slow down the control stick speed of the gimbal, it goes from 1-7 and defaults at 4. Setting it to 1 makes it much more useable. But yeah, locking the tracking and having it on a slider would give it an even MUCH nicer look. And now that you mention it, I do have the Edelkrone Pocket Slider that would pair up perfectly with this

i never liked the conventional wisdom of buying the creator combo for version 1 and 2, it's much cheaper not to and the quality of the microphone just wasn't there. the 3's microphone however has an three enticing features, the remote control, local recording, and the ability to record external audio without any attachment on the camera. i so want a remote control for my pocket 2, but the other differences are too minor to switch to the 3 now: different, not necessarily better image, 1.3 stops extra light but for ~550 euros, that is selling the old one for 150 perhaps then spending 680 for the new one with the microphone/remote and 20 for a new natural density 64 filter) i'm sure someone will come out with a shorter and sleeker tripod attachment, that's perhaps the only piece dji made an error with, it seems bulky for what it is

That’s just my assumption though, so I definitely didn’t want the Creator Combo and then later buy the Mic 2 and then have 3 separate transmitters. I definitely agree with you though, the Pocket 2 is still just as good. I still have mine and it’s significantly smaller than the Pocket 3. If it’s doing what you need it to do, definitely no need to upgrade.

Yeah, after having it for a few months, I probably should have went with the Creator Combo. If you think you're going to use the microphone at all (unless you already own the DJI Mic 2 system), I would suggest going with the Creator Combo over the basic kit.
