When I saw Scotty Makes Stuff's products, my thought is: FINALLY I FOUND A CASE COVERING FULLY! Well, technically it isn't a one-piece thing, but it is understandable. I can just stuff in that case, and put on the head cap (let's just call that), and throw away the original case (sadly, but yeah, I don't think it will fit). Which it seems to protect the pocket securely, and if I have the wheel, I can fit it without getting in the way. I suppose the head cap isn't too easy to just come out? Let's say I just throw this into my bag or pocket. Right? Well, hopefully can get my hands to it soon. -- From Singapore.

I think not many users will use Osmo Pocket with a smartphone. The footage and even the IBIS in some modern smartphones are nearly as good as Osmo's, so why to carry additional piece of plastic if the main idea here is portability. @@TheHybridShooter Actually my Lumix GX85 with kit lens comes extremely close to the Osmo for stability. Currently it is the same price, including kit lens, lens cap, battery charger, and has a sensor ten times the size, takes great stills, can shoot in 4k, can use about 30 different lenses, takes great stills, is pocketable with pancake kit lens, and has an image and video quality that knocks the Osmo in to a cocked hat. What you have there in Australian dollars in our market is a A$1300 spend. Thats out of most vloggers price range. You have to ask the question, what could you buy to do 4K video with that kind of money? I spent three weeks researching that and watched dozens of videos and blogs about that question. In the end I bought a Panasonic G7 with the 2019 firmware upgrade for A$600 including two stabilised lenses. The optics are incredible and 4K video is like the movies. With 4K 30 you get video quality that exceeds the resolution of most monitors and it looks fantastic at 1080 60 on an Apple Retina display. It has an external mic jack and hot shoe. The price leaves you able to buy a quality lavalier mic or a studio mic and you can get a softbox kit from Amazon for $100. Thats all you need. You are still at less than A$800. As a stills camera its as good as anything under A$2000. So my advice, do the research and as is also applied to GoPro, by the time you have paid for all the accessories you might as well get a better camera without the compromises.
@TheHybridShooter5 жыл бұрын
I don't think that anybody should buy all of that stuff, Osmo Pocket works just fine without any accessories, this video just shows the possibilities. G7 is completely different type of device, comparing it to Osmo Pocket makes no sense. It is OK camera, but nothing special in 2019, last FW update was released in 2016 and there is a ton of cameras under 2000 that are in completely different league.

Now that the Osmo Action is out, I no longer have an interest in the Osmo Pocket. Sure the Pocket is small but you have to buy so many accessories to use it how you want to. At that point, you’re carrying a camera bag full of equipment and have to take the time to swap out accessories to film things the way you want to. It’s too cumbersome. I’ve decided to get the Osmo Action now and wait till the Osmo Pocket 2 comes out. Hopefully, DJI will make it a little larger so it can have a built in mic port, WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities without the need to carry around an accessory for each. You can do the same things with the Osmo Action, bit it’s a lot more versatile in how you can use it. For the same price, the Action is the smarter purchase.
@TheHybridShooter5 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, you can't do the same things with Osmo Action. There is a big difference between a gimbal and electronic stabilization. Filed of view is completely different as well. As a long time viewer from the M43 days I'm disappointed that you recommend the Ulanzi wide angle lens. I accept you say it is a little soft in the corners, but other reviews have demonstrated it is very soft, and not remotely adequate for anyone looking for a reasonable quality image.

I have shown the samples as well, the decrease of sharpness is to be expected and it matches my expectations for tiny $15 adapter, so I don't care about other reviews.

@@TheHybridShooter OK, thanks for replying. I guess what surprised me was that, over many reviews of M43 equipment, your expectations seemed to be consistent with mine. My expectations change greatly depending on what I am reviewing, I obviously expect soft corners on such product. Freewell makes lens with much better corner sharpness, but also much narrower FOV, longer and more expensive...

I’m sorry but that’s an obscene number of accessories for something that people will be forced to throw away when the battery dies. I worked for the Environment Agency for 23 years and sometimes wonder why I bothered!

Battery in Osmo Pocket can be replaced and nobody said that you have to buy all of those accessories.

The Hybrid Shooter Apologies, I stand corrected for not keeping up to date! I thought the immovable battery had about 400 charges then you had to replace the whole unit?

DJI actually has really good customer service in certain parts of the world, they are replacing units even if you damage your OP, but they will reuse the parts. Battery replacement is also possible.

Stopped 3 minutes in just to say that you've never had music, but I already thought your reviews were among the best on KZbin. The music isn't necessary, and I would just keep doing what works. I want to focus 100% on your content, and the music doesn't help.

Thank you for sharing your opinion. It is a bit of experiment and the implementation probably wasn't perfect in this video.

Almost perfect, but no removable battery, a big fail ! When the battery will be dead, the osmo will be useless, or no possibility to have a spare battery and swap on the go. But otherwise amazing video !

Thank you! You can still charge the Osmo Pocket using power bank while shooting.

I just dont see the use of ND filters at all. People watching a video using dji osmo pocket can noy identify if it has o it dont have a nd filters.

That is not truth, amount of motion blur is visible and it makes the footage look classier, despite that people may not be able to identify why is that.
@PuntokUno10145 жыл бұрын
@@TheHybridShooter doesnt make sense to me. U will not watch a video just to see the motion blur. Thats a fact.
@TheHybridShooter5 жыл бұрын
@@PuntokUno1014 No, that is definitely not a fact. It is subconscious, but it changes overall impression of the footage.
