Have you ran into any issues with this battery? Need to purchase some more batteries and don't feel like paying for the "Genuine" DJI battery. I have had good luck with Powerextra Phantom 3 Pro Batteries. I have been using them for mapping without issues for 8 months now.
@jreviews59245 жыл бұрын
I have one of these power extra batteries for my phantom 4 pro, the one thing that concerns me with them is the connector terminals on the power extra batteries are very flimsy, with very little spring tension when inserted into the charger OR the phantom. This could cause power to cut out mid flight. So far ive used it 5 times, hasn't lost power yet BUT it has thrown a battery error twice due to higher than .1 volt deviations in one or more cells.

I’m thinking about getting 2 of these for my P4 Pro purchase, I know you’ve had them for over a year now, are they still holding up on keeping a good charge, or have they diminished any from the first time you used them?
@readysetdrone6 жыл бұрын
These batteries work perfectly. I have this one for my Phantom and I have one for my Mavic as well. I have had them a while and still have them in rotation with my original batteries. No problems so far.

@JimmyMakingitwork7 жыл бұрын
Consider that if the replacement brand batteries were not viable, would DJI try and stop people from using them? I think they'd let everyone crash, sell more drones and it would stop on its own before long. They know they work well.

I would have liked to know if it has all the smart features, like automatically discharging after a set amount of time.
@readysetdrone7 жыл бұрын
I know it is designed to be compatible with DJI's firmware updates. I just did a firmware update on my P4Pro and the battery worked fine. I'm not sure about the slow discharge...I'll charge it and then let it sit for 10 days to see if it has discharged like the standard DJI batteries do. Thanks for the comment!
@justuslm7 жыл бұрын
That sounds good, because I've been checking out some cheap Phantom 3 batteries but I could never find out if they actually had this feature. Also, don't get me wrong, I enjoyed this video, and it was kinda surprising that a cheaper battery can hold up with the original ones that well.
@readysetdrone7 жыл бұрын
I was surprised as well actually. Who knows if it will last for as many flights as a standard one, but at the much lower price, I think it's worth a shot!

Great review Kelly ! I was impressed that the flight time was better when you were chasing the R/C car ! Love to see a followup a month or so down the road to see how this battery is doing !
@readysetdrone7 жыл бұрын
Agreed. I did realize that the battery was slightly more "topped off" (98%) on the second flight than the first flight (96%), so that probably accounted for the few extra seconds of flight time. Yes - I plan to report back in a month about how this battery is holding up.

I would like to know if it takes the DJI software like the OEM does. Or is it just a vanilla program on it to show percent charge?
@readysetdrone7 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure, but you can see everything in terms of charge cycles, voltage, and each cell in DJI GO 4 app, just like with a regular DJI battery.

Sam, what software do you think a DJI battery carries on it?
@curiousdrone30157 жыл бұрын
the fact that the p4 and the p4p batteries weight the same suggests to me that the lesser power batteries are only less power because theyre software limited...
@Bobster9867 жыл бұрын
Run time is a good place to start, but I would also check the motor temperatures between using the DJI battery and the other to see if it is causing the motors to overheat. If it is, I would say those other batteries are damaging not just the motors, but the internal components as well.

I have one of this brand's batteries for the MavPro1. Detail differences in appearance, tiny ones. But performance seems noticeably better than my 2016 P4 batteries- which have dropped a little in fly time since new. Remember that even original DJI batteries areNOT proof against failure either, guys...

I'm about to pull the trigger on these but I'm reading reviews on Amazon that they don't sit inside the Phantom 4 snug and can disconnect when flying at high speeds. Please let me know if you notice the battery disconnects in Sport mode or fast banks. Thanks Kelly! Great review
@readysetdrone7 жыл бұрын
So I only have 2 flights with this battery. The hover test and then chasing a RC car. I was not in sport mode for that, but I was doing alot of direction changes and sudden acceleration, stopping, etc. I had NO problems with the battery in my 2 flights. I'm going to use it more this Saturday with some friends, but for now, I'm pretty confident in this battery.

Agreed that would be more scientific. It really comes down to time. My goal was to test to see if the battery would cause any immediate problems or behave unlike a regular battery. A couple of things that concerns me about aftermarket batteries is that in the past DJI put a firmware out that made it so aftermarket batteries didn't work or a majority of them in the past. Who knows if they will do that again. The other thing is if it's under warranty and you're running a DJI battery that malfunctions DJ I will cover it. If an aftermarket battery fails DJI will turn their head to any sort of warranty even if you bought the refresh warranty if it's found out that it was due to the battery. I personally don't think it's worth the risk to save a little money. Nice and interesting review though.
@readysetdrone7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Steve. To your first point, DJI just put out a major firmware update. This happened while I had the battery and has not impacted the battery at all. To your second point, I don't know if using an aftermarket battery would impact your warranty with DJI or not...that's a good question! Thanks for the comment!

Funny you should ask! I have a Power Extra battery for the Mavic Pro and am planning to do a follow up video about both of them. Short answer is, no problems. I've got 12 flights on my P4 battery and no issues yet. Behaves the same as the DJI battery so far.

Well, I think that you can buy the 2 pack of these for almost the same price as a single DJI P4Pro battery. Flight time is not significantly different.

O.K. everyone, here's something to think about which was not covered, and I think is very important. If you buy the generic batteries (like I did) and you decide to buy a multi-charger (I bought the Smatree model on Amazon) for them you will quickly discover that the generic (powerextra) phantom batteries will NOT charge in your multi-charger. Why? because of the voltage difference (which was covered in the video). If you want to buy a multi-charger that WILL charge the powerextra batteries, then guess what? It WILL NOT charge the original phantom batteries!... and the reason for this is the same, the difference in voltage. The bottom line here is that by owning both the generic and the original batteries you will end up charging them in different places and not in the same multi-charger, no matter which one you buy. The generic batteries ARE a good deal, and DO work well, its just that the charging issue (if you want to charge more than one battery at a time) will lead you two different directions and will mean two different multi-charger charger types. Buyer beware!!!

Big mistake is buying a dji M2P drone that comes with a STUPID and never intelligent battery. These batteries gets pregnant after 9 months of purchase (Battery swells) causing the battery to be ejected from the drone during flight, ending in a crash. dji are so devilish by indicating in their policy that batteries are covered for 6 months only, because they know that at 9 month these batteries are giving birth. And the biggest mistake I did was buying the fly more kit and an additional battery to make it 4 batteries in total. All of the batteries now are swelled up. Mind you that I take good care of my stuff, for the batteries, I always discharge them to 40% if I'm not planing to use for more than 10 days, fully charge and discharge on a regular bases and always stored in a cool place between 15 to 25 degrees in a secure sealed hard case by Nanuk. Called dji for replacement, they rejected my request although I have bought the care refresh and the Select member which was never used once...!

Is that really the best you could do to describe the battery? "Its white". Really? We can't see that. "The light tells you its charge level." No way!!! Unbelievable. How bout you move your hands and shows us the battery? You should not run your battery down to 20% the first time you fly it. Run it to about 50% the first 10 times you fly it. OH, and how about telling us what you times you get on the other 2 batteries? The Original 5350 battery, the original 5850 battery. Wouldn't that make sense...you know..to compare them?
