Mike, first great intro. Can tell you put some time in the sounds design on that one (nice!). Second, I thought that clip at 5:05 (drone into water) was hysterical...made me chuckle. Nicely done! Know what would be nice...if DJI made some of their controllers 'cross-compatible' so 1 controller can be used with more than a single quad. Agree...it's way to big than is actually needed.

Been doing real estate photography for years now and have both the phantom 4 pro and Mavic 2 pro and I stopped using the phantom 4. I’ve compared my photos from hundreds of houses and the ones that I’ve taken with the Mavic are noticeably sharper and more vibrant (after editing) than the photos I take with my phantom. Now the phantom takes the cake with the sharpness and quality without having to edit but for some reason when I edit my Mavic photos they turn out much, much better. And I edit my photos from both the Mavic and Phantom but started using my Mavic more when I noticed the final photos were better. If anyone would like to see my photos to compare themselves pm me and I can send you my website.

Great points, nice to hear some good things said about the Phantom. I own the mavic 2 pro and the phantom 4 pro v2.0 plus and have the choice of which to use. I always take both with me in my car and have the Manfroto backpack for the phantom and an aftermarket backpack to carry my mavic 2 pro so for me there is no issue at all transporting the phantom as in the backpack it is no more bulky or difficult to carry than the mavic 2 pro but the footage from the phantom is so so so much nicer than the mavic 2 pro.

Great video. I agree 1000k percent! I started with the Phantom 4, then went to the Obsidian, Mavic, Mavic 2 Zoom, Inspire 1, and now the Mavic 2 Pro. I love the quality it produces (M2P) and its portability. For my commercial jobs I rock my Inspire. Nothing compares to that quality but again, it's a massive drone with replaceable lenses. Good review on P4P vs M2. I agree the handling of the M2 is better, however the P4P does have a superior camera (I have P4P V1). The ill handling aspect of the P4P has something to do with the craft navigation system I think, not the RC. The P4P cannot hold a consistent yaw rate. The M2 can hold a consistent yaw rate in a hover with no problem. I think the poor yaw consistency has something to do with the large landing gear on the P4P, causing turbulents to affect a smooth and consistent yaw. You would think the P4P with longer sticks would be easier to yaw at a consistent rate, but no, the M2 is a more capable craft for smooth and consistent yaw maneuvers, even with shorter RC sticks. Go figure! Your point about the poor camera in M2P is accurate, I was disappointed, not only from a clarity point of view (compared to my P4P V1), but the lack of 60FPS at 4K, which the M2P doesn't support, like P4P. So I opted to buy the M2Z to take advantage of the 2X zoom, which I love for animal shoots. Yeah, it's only 1/2" sensor, but it's good enough for much of my work. The zoom is a bargain tool.

@@DroneSupremacy I fly a Phantom 4 Pro mark 1 in Bali, and its a nightmare. There is so much wifi-'spillage' at 2.4 gigahertz from homes, villages, hotels on beaches etc that I lose connection with the drone only a few hundred metres out. If I switch to 5.8 Gigahertz, the range seems seriously curtailed and the connection seems weak. Scary stuff, as I worry about losing the drone. That has happened a few times too many for me, with anxious 'Return to Home' button pushed. Additionally i have had to ditch two batteries which started to swell, even after I took extreme care with them. And they are crazy expensive, between 150-200 dollars each. That is ridiculous. And each of my batteries had only done about 20-odd flights. Yes, the portability issue: I don't have a car, so I transport my bird in a backpack designed for the job. I have a motorcycle with a 46 litre box on the back, but the pack is just a teensy bit too large! BUT.. the quality of the images is amazing, straight out of the box. I tend not to add my own cinematic colouring. And in Final Cut Pro, the footage is good. I am still learning editing, as I have stopped flying over lockdown, and a bit rusty flying now.

Great video man! So, if you were to give me your two cents on the following, what would your recommendation be? I already own the Mavic Air, which is great for portability and still has descent quality overall. I own a small filmmaking business and have been getting some more drone work lately, so I was planning on getting another drone and use the Air as a backup. Would you go for the Mavic 2 Pro or the Phantom 4 Pro v2 if you already had the Air, like me? I'm using the Phantom 2 Pro V2 even last weekend for a client. The noise was not a factor and I never see the props in the pics and video unless I'm doing specific maneuvers. It does take practice to get smooth footage but you also have access to use software like Litchi and DroneDeploy (so does the Mavic Pro 2 and a few other models but not all). The King of Drones is a tough one since everyone has a preference and different pros and cons. I def expect to purchase the Mavic Pro 3 assuming it get's good reviews but in windy conditions I'd probably still use my Phantom.

Hi there, what would you recommend as an alternative (budget friendly under 100$) for DJI Phantom 4 drone? thanks a lot
@AirtimeAerial4 жыл бұрын
Under $100 will be impossible, if you were meaning under $1000, you can ( if you dig hard ) find a low hrs P4P. I found a P4P V2.0 ( 1st edition, not re release ) with just under 15 hrs flight time on it for $1K..with an extra batt and props. New, you wont find one for a thousand though unless you find someone with a new unopened one and hard up for cash or win an ebay auction for that price. With current economic sitch I cant say it would be impossible but even with current economics it'd be difficult because it's still a valuable platform for many commercial droners even as old as the platform is. But with diligence, and if you dont mind doing the footwork your best bet if you want these capabilities is looking for a pre owned model to fit that price range. Anything else that is new and has a 1" sensor on it wont be avail at that price point. Good luck in your search!

Thank you for making the video, I subbed & let the adds play through to earn you $$ The tip on the blades acts like a winglet on a fixed with air craft. They reduce drag, in this case it also increases stability because your flying a second blade behind the others wake. Like a Chinook Helicopter. Although that air craft doesn’t have rotors that are parallel to each other. They are offset on elevation. I’m not sure about this drones set up. They would also reduce vortices so in effect yes lower noise level in the frequency range we can hear.
@momochan26544 жыл бұрын
i mean you be asking for much about the noise because they need to be spinning really fast considering how heavy the drone is with all the tech in it so it’s going to generate a lot of noise plus the props are plastic so it’s expected

This is a very helpful review - thank you for that. One are that you didn't address (perhaps its not in your work flow) - mapping. I have a Mavic 2 Zoom and was considering adding the Phantom to get into mapping. But, having flown the Mavic and the Autel Evo, which I can easily transport in my backpack, I'm not sure that the trade-off in portability for a revised old style drone design would be a worthwhile investment for me right now. If a good deal comes along, perhaps, but otherwise, you probably just saved me a ton of disappointment. Thanks, and keep up the good work! ~ EM

I really can’t see what the issue is with its large size.. you said yourself smaller drones don’t look as impressive as the bigger ones! But of far more importance is that bigger drones are that much more stable in flight, the weight is actually an advantage. This drone is more aimed at filmmakers and for the filmmaker (Who is used to lugging around camera equipment anyway), a few minutes set up is nothing. Those buying this drone I would’ve thought would mainly be focused on image quality. I’ve got the original P4, quality is obviously not as good as this one, but it’s very very stable in windy conditions.. and I can go from it being packed away to in-flight within just a couple of minutes! Setting up my cinema camera, crane, tripod, gimbal .. takes an awful lot longer! I’m seriously considering this drone.
