@@alex.semeniuk Why not just drill into the sides of the head where the antennas are and solder a tap into the line there and have them mounted on the outside? This seems like a LOT of trouble to go to just to access something that is in a small plastic capsule that you could just break open or drill into. Also why not add a 20db amplifier to it while you're at it? Do you know which is the send and which is the receive side of the antennas? When the controller is in your hands, is the left send, or is the right send?

You can't "tap into" an antenna feed, you will change the impedance of the circuit and your signal strength will drop to sweet F-all.

If the rc pro has two u.fl/ipex connectors then it would be fine. If not, adding an extra would most likely change the impedance, resulting in possible damage to the WiFi radio from impedance mismatch.

Is there a particular reason you don't just use the leads that exist? It would save a ton of time and potential damage to the RC and trading only a minor amount of conductivity yes?

It's damn near impossible to connect both wires to the connector. They are so small. Has to be done with a machine. ThTs why.

Because you'd change the tuning characteristics of the antenna and render the entire RF frontend useless. Remember RF doesn't behave anything like DC. It can jump gaps and radiate from sharp edges.

I saw the new DJI Air 3 comes with Occusync 4 and has 4 antennas. (This will possibly on the future Mini 4 as well). There is also a Occusync 4 version of this called the RC-N2. Do you think the RC-N2 can be modded with 4 antennas. Or will it need added plate like the Alientech for the RCN1.

@@roy4359 Finding any information about modding these is terribly hard, I feel for you there. I would suggest getting a SmallVNA or something like that and seeing what signals you can see on those wires and reverse engineer it yourself and get back to us and tell us what you found please.

Hey Alex, thanks so much for taking the time to share this video. It inspired me to take apart my controller and try it out--I wouldn't have been able to do it without your video. Only problem is that my range got worse! I'm wondering what I could've done incorrectly. It seems like one input port for the antenna on the physical motherboard might be damaged because one antenna always seems to be significantly stronger (and when I opened it back up and switched which antenna goes into the W and B antenna ports, the stronger signal successfully moved over to the other antenna). Thus I concluded the wires are fine and functioning properly. Have you run into an issue like this when modifying these controllers and do you know what I could try to resolve it? Thanks in advance!

That doesn't make sense. If you swapped the cables, and the other antenna started working, the working antenna followed the connector. That means then one of the cables or one of the antennas are faulty.

Yes, it is. It would work with all DJI drones that the controller supports.

you are actually creating a problem with Horizontal isolation. At this distance its 0db. At 6" is about 12dB with 3dBi gain antennas

By all means - further apart, they are dual band so we must use the lower frequency as a reference….. if you notice the PRO version controllers , they are separated by the entire width of the controller
