DJI RC-N1 Remote Controller linking error

Greetings, everyone and DJI Tutorials
Here's the first of it's kind from my end, a DJI report video. After receiving the Mavic 3, I was eager to get started, but I am experiencing problems with the DJI RC-N1 Remote Controller. I've already sent 2 videos to DJI without any feedback, hopefully this will help me understand better.
While I think my MAVIC 3 drone is okay, I have yet to do a test flight.
So far, I have tried:
Reinstalled DJI FLY
I used an iPhone running iOS 15.6
I used an iPhone with iOS 16
Two different phones were used
As per DJI's suggestion on page 53, I followed the manual
Instructions for the DJI RC-N1 Remote Controller were used
Unfortunately, none of the above worked.

Steps followed
Linking the Remote Controller
The aircraft and remote controller must be linked before using. Follow these steps to link a new remote controller:
1. Power on the remote controller and the aircraft.
2. Launch DJI Fly.
3. In camera view, tap •• • and select Control and Pair to Aircraft (Link).
4. Press and hold the power button of the aircraft for more than four seconds. The aircraft beeps once indicating it is ready to link. The aircraft beeps twice indicating linking is successful. The battery level LEDs of the remote controller will glow solid.
* Make sure the remote controller is within 0.5 m of the aircraft during linking
* The remote controller will automatically unlink from an aircraft if a new remote controller is linked to the same aircraft.
* Fully charge the remote controller before each flight. The remote controller sounds an alert when the battery level is low.
* If the remote controller is powered on and not in use for five minutes, an alert will sound. After 6 minutes, the remote controller automatically powers off. Move the control sticks or press any button to cancel the alert.
* Adjust the mobile device holder to ensure the mobile device is secure.
• Fully charge the battery at least once every three months to maintain battery health.

@EyemotionView it is my smartphone cable, so any data transfer usbc to usbc would work!

Hey, its not the cable.. When you plug it into your phone you will see a pop up for usb settings, you need to switch it to file transfer. Worked instantly. (android) I think some cables just do this automatically so switching cables sometimes solves the issue.

I was having this issue. I solved it by getting a new usb-c to usb-c cable. That resolved my problem. I believe after using my cable for more than a year, the cable got damaged. My camera view stop connecting. Do not mess with your settings or try relinking drone.

Experiencing the same issue for months now. Haven't been able to find a solution. For reference, my drone was working perfectly fine for a year before this started happening. If anyone has a fix, please lmk.

It is so annoying, isn’t it? I’ll do an update Video if they give me a solution. I had the phantom and never had an issue. Had the first Mavic Pro and again no connections issues. I think the Trying to adapt or retrofit the remote with new devices is the key issue.

This happened to me after i updated my phone. My solution is to restart the phone then connect to the rc n1 then turn on the rc n1. It will automatically connect. Make sure the rc n1 is turned off before you connect the phone otherwise you need to restart your phone again.

I was trying all day to connect my mini 3 to the controller and watching lots of KZbin videos, then I came across your video and I noticed that you didn't turned on your drone then afterwards pushed and hold down the power button on the drone for 4 seconds til you here a beep and the drone will pair itself to the controller. That's how I got mines to work.

My Problem is the same and happened after doing upgrading IOS 17. Using iPad Air. when connecting controller, the charging indicator at top right of iPad comes on and off. and says "not connected" the the green charging light comes on. Cycles on and off. New cable or reload of IOS not a fix

go to wifi then connect to your drone from there and after you connect your wifi to the drone it should allow you to connect

I have solutions Turn on both air2s and controller and press power button of both at the same time for few second. U r good to fly.

Experiencing the same issue and absolutely everything i have done doesn’t work. I restarted, switched cables, i have no idea why it’s not working. If you had this issue figured out, could you please share with me what you do? I’m about to send my drone back to costco and get a new one if I can’t get it figured out

If it’s still under warranty, I would definitely send it back. I had a few back and forth with trying to solve but it ended up being a faulty unit and I sent it back.

I have the same issue. I used a second phone(Samsung) and it worked normally. I think certain phones are being blocked as my phone that did not work has android 11. It would be helpful if they told us about this.

Mailing my Air2S back with the Fing Remote, I have an IPhone 15 Pro Max and the remote won’t fing pair, I think it’s an IOS 17 issue,,,, I also have a Mini4 Pro which i love more then my Air2S, once DJI fixes it mailing it too then will just sell it too much drama…… I have had a mini, Mini2 and now Mini 4Pro and air 2s is so much drama

Absolutely understand Ryan, extremely disappointing and frustrating. The only thing that worked for me but at extra cost was to buy the Air 3 with the RC2 controller, I thought that is my only option to bypass app drama.

Most likely you've already tried this, but just in case I'll tell you. When you have connected the phone and the remote control via cable, you need to press the remote control power button and the drone power button at the same time and then everything will be connected.

You probably crashed it a time or two. 1) Log out of your account in DJI app. 2) examine drone plastic casing and snap any pieces back in place. 3) love tap the drone from end to end like a N64 cartridge. 4) Try pairing again.

Problem solved .. we had the same problem .... it kept saying that it wants to connect a USB cable .... we didn't buy anything or send it to the service center ..... we just took my older mobile that we used before for a test. ... everything was running normally without any problem ..... on my new mobile there was a connection problem suddenly and unexpectedly after updating Dij fly .... just to be sure, we uninstalled the APP and uploaded it again, the problem persisted and so we updated the MOBILE and suddenly is everything OK :)

I have the same problem right now , DJI mini 3 I bought it 40 days ago and I use it only 2 times, why every one have the same problem !! and Why DJI didn't give us the solution for that, I will never buy any DJI Product !!

The cable is not in the right slot in the controller. It has 2 slots, 1 for cable storage and the other on is the right connection.

Turn on the aircraft rustic Fab button in the back wait for the beat give her a couple seconds then your aircraft will connect to the controller
