DJI RS2 Expansion Base kit, things to know before you buy!

You can’t rely on wireless. Tilta doesn’t work 100%. The new handle is glitchy. So annoying on set. That is why you’re using solid cables to control the RS2/RS3. Works 10 out of 10. You can buy a short cable from Lemo to dtap and use whatever battery you have.

why not run the stuff to power and then use something like a ps4 controller with better joystick controll

You can use a wireless bluetooth xbox controller to move the head wirelessly. Dont even need the handles besides giving the head power. than just mount the handle to the jib. I agree the cables are glunky also we have a 32foot jib and cant find longer cables. So they are useless to me. So that is frustrating.

correct me if I'm wrong, but the only difference between this an the tilta system is that they allow you to power from a vmount battery, so you don't have to run a cable. But you could just then keep the dji base expansion kit and get a vmount battery cable and use the short cord isntead of the long one. right?

I was torn between this rs2 or the weebil 2 and went with the weebil 2 pro combo with the Vc100 controller and it works amazingly wireless on the Tilta System.

Kit comes with one shorter cable, just buy another. You don't have to be stuck with those long ones unless you need them.

Great video Brian! I've owned the Ronin-M and used the controller before. I really miss the ease of use from the INCLUDED WIRELESS system. I'm considering a steady arm attachment on my dirtbike with the RS2 that would be controlled by another person. Have you got the opportunity to try out the tilta control kit yet? I'd be curious to hear your thoughts. Anyways, this was definitely a very insightful video for my research phase. Love your channel though, keep it up with the great videos!!!

You can connect a Xbox or ps4/5 remote on it also. But yes the analog on the dji remote is so damn horrible and jerky . I wish they would’ve added a mimic , so much smoother when you can mimmic

@@BrianHunt I got a Xbox remote, very smooth, only 1 thing I didn’t like is that you can control iso/aperture with the remote BUT it’s no big deal lol you can always do I manually OR have the remote from the expansion just for that and OR use the phone app

Hey man, what are you using to connect the expansion kit to the Jib? It looks like you have some kind of extension from what looks liek a KC-12 jib? I have a KC-12 and am looking to get the Expansion kit but wondering if i will also need what ever it is you seem to have haha!

@@User-pq2yn Not sure. But when you go on their website to purchase the RS 3 Pro there is the option to buy the base kit as well. Maybe there is a difference between compatibility with RS 3 and RS 3 Pro

It is one cable if you use it with the RavenEye. Not sure why DJI doesn't show people how to install like the following: photos.app.goo.gl/HdMQrBrWrAgD6V6WA You don't need all the wires to get this working remotely. The short cable comes in the box as well :)
