DJI Virtual Flight Simulator Demo - How To Setup Controller & Goggles

Just a quick demonstration of DJI's new virtual flight simulator that helps train you to fly their new FPV Drone. This new FPV drone is nothing like DJI has released in the past and flying it is quite different especially if you want to fly in full manual mode. It is recommended to spend some time on the simulator before your first flight with the DJI FPV drone to get a feel of how the drone will behave. In this video, I show you how to connect the goggles and remote control to your phone. This is a free app to download and you do not need to own the drone to use it. You can use virtual joysticks on your phone screen to control the drone. To download search for "DJI Virtual Flight" in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

You have to own the Goggles ($569) to run this simulator with a remote. I wanted to use it as well with my iPhone or DJI smart controller...but nope you have to own the Goggles.

Have you done a video using the flight sim and the motion controller with V2 goggles yet. Cannot seem to find. Great teaching video here. Is it ever possible for you to provide a narrative of the step wise functions needed to access the flight sim (so we can write out the narrative for reference in future?? Would be excellent help, as sometimes the details of the utube videos go by very fast. Is that a possibility to try??

one thing, you could connect the goggle with ipad or iphone with usb-c to usb-c cable, which works, but you need to make sure the goggle and controller are connected or initiated with "DJI fly" app

Yes I have that controller as well and unfortunately it only works with the current FPV gear. However the original control it does work with apps like lift off on a PC I have used it on that many times

I found out what was wrong with mine, I had to do to the fly app as if I was going to actually fry the drone. And it updated all softwares for all devices. Then I went back to the simulator app and everything worked fine.

So i got my avata yesterday. And i spend 2 hrs in normal and sport mode at the simulator.. so i turned it on manuall mode... why is my drone fly backwards... and up as i dont touch my controller? Is this a setting Problem? And will my drone do this also in real when i switch to the manuall mode fly for herself without touching the controller up and backwards? Hi folks, can anyone help me? I bought the DJI Goggles V2 and the DJI Controller V2 and i would like to practice flying with the DJI Virtual Flight App on my iPhone. As seen in the video you connect the Goggles with that OTG connector with the iPhone.. But that OTG cable was not included in the Goggles package. So i bought a third party OTG connector, but the app still can't connect with the goggles.... so do i really need the original DJI OTG connector or what is the problem?... any tips from you guys? would be very happy:)

You can use any Bluetooth game controller (i.e. Playstion or Xbox). Just need to add it in Settings on the iPad before opening the app. When you open the app choose smartphone control method.

Just got my dji fpv drone package.. I want to practice with the simulator 1st before actually flying the drone for real and I do not want to activate the drone as I want to practice 1st and see if I want to get DJI refresh care insurance before flying for real as of course I cannot get DJI refresh care after activating it.. Before purchasing the drone I checked with staff in the online chat service and at 1st they said I could not use the simulator and controller before activating ..then they said they looked into it and said actually I can and ar that point when they said I could I was ready to purchase the drone package but now I have it I cannot use the virtual flight simulator or the controller with any other flight simulator like liftoff at all and on calling back DJI they say I need to activate it 1st which is really frustrating.. It just doesn't make sense that I need to activate everything before I can just use the controller and not use the drone itself.. Do you know of any way of using the remote controller with or without the goggles or using the screen on my phone only without activating the drone itself? Thank you

Yes you can plug-in your iPhone to the side of the goggles with the provided OTG cable And get a view of the drone by using the DJI fly App

But, this gives you digital video in... Why can't any other device use this signal? Like pc, it has to be connected through the av input.
