I’m glad you highlight the incredible sound quality of the V10. I bought the V10 a year ago and I’m still impressed by the amazing audio it reprocess! I owned a Denon set before and comparing the V10/CDJ3000 setup to Denon is completely meaningless, even if it were just for the audio quality of the Pioneer.
@Reticuli Жыл бұрын
Most of the difference is the sound processing of the firmware on the players. Pioneer now is doing their analog input gain-staging exactly like the digital mixers from Numark, Rane, and new Denon, and their mixer sample rate conversion is also similar. It's worth noting that on Denon digital mixers you can change the sample rate to simply match the digital input rate, which is useful with older digital DJ media players. Some people have complained that they don't like the V10's SRC compared to the prior Pioneer digital mixers, though that's obviously not an issue when using the CDJ-3000.

I saw several reviews of the V10 but you get it better than anyone else (although I suppose those others were really early reviews). I love everything about it. The stuff that felt weird at first is starting to make a lot of sense. I love the monster isolator knobs. The RMX-1000 always seemed like a toy that shouldn’t cost more than $200. But I wanted an isolator. I always thought the DJM-1000 was really cool, and a few techno DJs used it, but it’s a little too weird. I’m getting the V10 next week. The only thing that frustrates me is that I really like the red on-air rings, and I want to put my decks on channel 3/4/5/6, but the CDJ-3000 is the only thing that can assign itself as device 5 or 6. And I doubt they’re in a hurry to update the firmware of other players to support 5/6.
@priyonjoni3 жыл бұрын
Yeah right now, channels 1-4 are the only ones you can use with CDJs with Pro DJ LINK connectivity. I will say, using it in that manner for a couple weeks, I got used to it. The first 4 are the CDJs, the next two are accessory or instrumental items.
@RaquelFoster3 жыл бұрын
@@priyonjoni The CDJ-3000 lets you pick any channel 1-6 in Utility > Pro DJ Link > Player No.
@priyonjoni3 жыл бұрын
Yes it does! It’s the only player that allows you to do deck assignment 1-6. However keep in mind that if you including an older CDJ in there, it will limit to 4 decks.

I owned a DJM-1000. Up until now the best digital mixer on the planet and the construction was nothing short of incredible. I have a DJM-V10 now. The V10 truly is a new class of mixer I didn't think was possible. When I got my CDJ-3000 I realized how clear the sound was on the V10 (I traded up from CDJ2000's). If you're not using an effects processor, get an Eventide H9Max. It will blow you away on expansive the effects are. I didn't think delays or reverb could sound so monstrous.
@RaquelFoster3 жыл бұрын
@@priyonjoni Yeah! Pioneer should really have that info somewhere in the V10 specs and CDJ-3000 specs - that only a CDJ-3000 can use channel 5/6, and if you have a CDJ-3000 on channel 5 or 6 you can't have ANYTHING on the network besides a V10 and CDJ-3000s. As soon as you plug in an older player the CDJ-3000 will give an error message and the other player won't even join the network.

Great review. Money no object, which mixer would you get between the V10 or the DJM 900 NXS?
@priyonjoni2 жыл бұрын
V10 because I like to add instruments to my set, and I love the 4 band EQ and the compressor on each channel.
@kabes-us2 жыл бұрын
@@priyonjoni Good to know. I’ve been back and forth between the two. With so many high profile DJ’s using the 900, my fear was if I went the V10 route I might be missing or overlooking something in the 900.
@juups48572 жыл бұрын
@@kabes-us Hey Kabes, have you played on either of them? I'd suggest having a good play around on each of your options before committing :) Also, I don't know where your skill level is at... but for me it actually helps build my skill if I don't have top of the range gear. Having the best gear without knowing how to use it can be kinda overwhelming :/
@kabes-us2 жыл бұрын
@@juups4857 Thanks for your reply. No, haven’t played with either. No one has them in stock. Was trying to gather as much insight before I put money down to order. I’m familiar with mixers. Was DJing before and now just making my way back. Now the CDJ’s are a different story as I was a 1200 guy before now going digital. I like to go for what I really want first. Building up for me just waist time and money. Especially having to sell used gear and not even making 50% of it back. I’d rather just spend the money once and take the time to learn it but it is certainly a fair point you make.
@juups48572 жыл бұрын
@@kabes-us Ok, well the 900NXS2 is a really good mixer, too... a classic. The V10 is the next generation. I guess your choice also depends on what kind of DJ you are. Some people say that 4 band eq's are really well suited for extended house and techno style mixes, because you can sculpt the frequencies more... where 3 band eq's can handle faster mixing more easily (because there are less knobs to dial). Both are great units. Also worth checking out Allen & Heath PX5 and Xone:62 models...

To be onest now , after 15 years Pioneer change the filters on V10 just now . Is a shame , is a big copy-paste from A&H Xone 96. Finally , with V10 Pioneer will improve the sound quality but after so many years. They needed 15 years to understand that 4 band EQ and filters from Zero point is a must have in sound quality. In conclusion, I will never use Pionner mixer in my life . Anyway, congrats for this deep review

The XDJ-1000mk2 was released in 2016. The DJM-V10 was released beginning of 2020, and the video is from mid-2020, months before the CDJ-3000 was released. The two products are 4 years apart. Nice try though 😉.
