Today we install the cupola, cannon, and recoil mechanism - and motion control & audio units. The machine is almost completed.
Surgery is getting real here.. .and the fine points of the tanks internals are coming together. With each passing moment we are closer to starting this Ferdinand Elefant Tank Destroyer Model.
(LOADING WARS: Second Channel: / @poppygoatshomestead )
FULL HISTORY of this WW2 Model: www.tanks-encyc...
I am not replicating a WW2 model. It is 2018/2019 - and we are building an Ferdinand Elefant Tank Destroyer, with our own twist. We are amazed with the current model, and really are enjoying putting this together as a group. I sourced this MAMMOTH Build from www.armortek.co.uk in England! This entire kit was just over $10,000 - and has been an EXCELLENT 10 year project for us! We are celebrating making our show RC ADVENTURES on KZbin for the last decade, and wanted an extemporary project to commemorate this achievement.
The Radio I am using is a Flysky Paladin (PL18) - at the time of this filming it is Flyskys latest Dual Stick radio to hit the market. Touch screen, and nicely weighted - this radio is the right fit for me on this project.
I did choose to get all of the options, to make this Project build tank kit all it can be! This is my 10 year celebration, of being on KZbin. For more than a decade I have created RC ADVENTURES for the world to see. More than 1.2 Billion views later.. we wanted to do a giant project together.. something that is truly astounding for us, and the viewers. This ARMORTEK TANK was the largest kit we could source.
We hope you are enjoying the show, and leave us a THUMBS UP/LIKE CLICK on the video, and maybe a comment?! THANK YOU!

LMAO That was Probably one of the funniest episodes of RC Sparks Studios has produced to date, if not the most. You guys are kicking but and taking names in this build! Love the show. On another note I know the electronics part of builds are tiresome but I like the in depth look. Guys and Girls the electronics on any build is one of the most essential and critical parts of this hobby. If you can learn the electronics aspect then you can do amazing things that not alot of people can do, witch can make your RC stand out of the norm. Thanks Medic and Friends for the great entertainment!

You mentioned "further away from WWII all the time" and it made me think of this tank in a "rebuilt for post apocalyptic modern warfare" kind of deal, with extra armor panels from other vehicles and tanks welded onto the outside, various different colored paints throughout, maybe some graffiti, some rust, and some netting hanging off the top and the sides of the super structure. Bladed spikes sticking out of the road wheels, and portions of the super structure. Maybe put a skull and crossbones on it (maybe even fly a black flag) like road pirates. That'd be epic. You guys should totally do a post apocalyptic battle royale sort of RC competition. Flame throwers, airsoft, and a course full of traps for the RC vehicles. lmao

I love WW2 armor. I am a absolute fan. But I served in the US Army from 95-12. I was a M2 Bradley fighting Vehicle systems maintainer. I was also a recovery guy as my first maint team I was assigned to was a recovery section in 2/3 ACR 3rd ACR when they were stationed at FT. Carson Co. I had begged my drills in AIT to put me through hotel 8 training for the recovery identifier. They instead sent all of the guys who wanted nothing to do with H8 training. So when I left AIT I was sure I would never get assigned to M88s because I had never gone to the recovery course. lol then I get to my unit and my NCO takes me to the motorpool and my first day he tells me I will be signing for the 4th M88a1 on the vehicle line that recovery section had. I was absolutely in heaven when he told me that. And for the next 15 yrs of my Army career I drove and operated the M88a1. Even when I made E5 I refused to sit in the TC seat. I wanted to drive that monster every chance I got. When I was in Iraq during my 2nd tour I put so many miles on my M88 that I had to change track twice due to racing slicks I ended up with from driving and doing so many recovery missions or lifting missions. The M88a1 is a work horse when its maintained and the person operating it knows what needs to be done. I am now a disabled vet due to injuries I got from Iraq. And I miss my work so much. I miss driving M88s and Bradleys. I miss the smell of the M1s exhaust. I miss being around armor more than I can describe. So many of my years have been filled totally with armor and working on armor. Its in my blood to the point that I dream about doing recovery missions lol. I lately saw videos of people making these Armortek RC models. They look amazing! I wish to god they made one of the M88s or even the Bradleys! I would throw money at them easily to see this happen. That would be the best thing ever for a guy like me who seriously loves the M88s. Such a incredible machine and it allowed me to do some seriously great work with minimal effort. I hope I see this happen someday.

Man, Just an awesome build! Please route the exhaust under the fenders though, not only accurate but will look awesome! Haven't check the next episode yet but if recoil is still hanging could be a barrel/breech balance issue. If the barrel is muzzle heavy/light you'll get drag when it recoils. In the 1/16 tanks we occasionally have to add weight to the "breech area" to compensate.

Amazing! the only thing that would make this imho more realistic for it to have a cannon that fires a blank of some sort, not a actual ammo blank for safety reasons but a pyrotecnic device firework type, it could also serve to propel the recoil etc.

One tip when you were sanding down the bore for the barrel. I see you have an air compressor. One thing I found on other YT channels, using an air die grinder. Take a quarter inch diameter rod, cut a slit on one end about an inch long and just the width of a hacksaw blade. Then use some 1 inch wide sanding cloth rolled up and use the die grinder to spin it. Makes a homemade flap wheel sander. Check out Keith Fenner or Abom79 channels.
