The Infantry Course
How to rejoin, transfer and prepare.
What is the Infantry Assessment Course?
It is a three week course that you complete if you have previous experience. On completion you will either move to your unit or start Phase 2 Infantry training.
Listen to the soldiers that give their take on what it's like, how to prepare and why they decided to give it a go.

I left 32 years ago, missed it for 6 months, but kept remembering how boring it was,BAOR IN 80s.Never went out or did anything.Painted my wagon so many times,it was bulletproof, watch out for boredom it creeps up on you. Then time to get out,get some qualifications at anything,it all helps.Though about this,no RPG proof.

Be confident and assertive when giving briefs or leading tasks. The Army wants the type of personality who guys will follow to the edge of the world. The best Officer I had, had a natural charisma when he walked into a room. Its probably easier for confident extroverts. Also you need to be mature and setting the standard.

Do you remember what UFAS stands for and what your papers said? Some discharge papers say 'UFAS at this time' others say 'permanently UFAS'. Have your circumstances changed? How much time has passed? Has anyhing else happened in that time to prevent you serving? The AFCO will ask you all those questions to determine if you can progress or not. So that's your next move pal.

@@kiecheaton9027 - you need to be able to demonstrate the points I made above. If you can't then you'll need to wait a while longer until you can. Get your discharge papers, read them, consider your answers, then call the AFCO. Then get ready to be fucked about for ages until the system decides what to do with you.

Nothing wrong with wanting to provide a stable income for yourself and your family, and the Army provides that. I say off hats off to them for having the balls to rejoin even though people like you judge.

@@rebel1052k I completely agree but I didn’t say that. I was in the infantry for 4 years and I never saw one soul return to it. Yes many returned to the army as a signaler, engineer, medic, or SF. But why would you return to Infantry? That’s what I’m saying -
