That happened after he was already well known, already known for over promising, already running his own studio. But Peter has multiple villain origins. His dog was shot accidentally by a farmer, his first game sold only one copy and he accidentally deleted it, his studio was named Lionhead after a pet hamster that died suddenly within hours of them officially filing the paperwork for the name, the kinect tech demo Milo that he wanted to become a full game (the woman talking to a little boy game) was rejected by Microsoft partly because it was "incredibly depressing, mostly about a sad lonely boy talking to you while his parents argue in the background" and Moly didn't understand what was depressing when told because he based it off his childhood... It's a wonder Molyneux hasn't killed anyone given the tragedy behind his life, it's absolutely crazy.

Poor Peter M. Having that Tamagatchi was the only way he could experience human emotions. Having it drown in his coffee apparently unhinged him mentally, and his "work" on the Godus project was not with the intention of making a fun game, he was hoping to create the ultimate god-like experience which would allow him to create his own sentient Tamagatchi, which would allow him to be a hermit and spend the rest of his life with his Tamagatchi 2.0, causing him to (hopefully) feel feelings again, and possibly make babies with his creation.

everyone working together so only 1 person gets a prize and then that prize being nothing because it was just an attempt by a conman to build up some hype... thats just amazing, nobody won except for peter

So we should be seeing one of these for our favorite con man Elon Musk in the near future.

After Fable and it wasn't just the acorn he said so much stuff about the game that turned out to be false I wouldn't pay him much heed. I would never give this guy any money for a kickstarter project.

We need a Memento-like Polaroid of Peter Molyneux but "Don't believe his lies" is written like 50 times on both the front and back.
@ginko26923 жыл бұрын
The reward in the cube was more of a reward for Peter. It's just a video of him as God. What he's always wanted. Kickstarter is literally the worst platform for someone like Peter Molyneux

The quote at the beginning, while somewhat honourable is contextually similar to describing yourself as “high risk, high reward” on social media. It’s basically saying “I know I’m in the wrong, but you’re just going to get used to it.”

Peter Molyneux did a great job in his earlier days, but ever since Fable it went downhill. The 1st Fable was still very good but it underdelivered on his promises and it seemed to get progressively worse from there.

@@RantingThespian I see. I wasn't a pc gamer at that time so I didn't really follow that game. And I never heard anyone complain about it, maybe they weren't on the hype train and just enjoyed it for what it was.

Molyneux is a controversial figure for sure, and sometimes you can't help but hate his guts, but if a coworker of mine were to do to me what his did to his Tamagotchi I would turn his face into paste. It's not even about the damn virtual pet, it's about taking property that doesn't belong to him and that the owner very clearly has a lot of appreciation for and destroying it. It's really no different from some asshole crushing your Nintendo 3DS because he can't stand seeing you play Mario Kart all day. Yeah, I wouldn't be creating new game genres; I would be in jail for f**king up that guy beyond recognition.

I will miss this game, poor Godus, is on life support with 0 support and cheap sellouts. I used to play this game for ages on Steam and then on my phone, being just short of the backing days of it, now it's just a sham and 22Cans sold it out and moved on a totally different genre, which from what I hear is scummy Chinese markets. The support desk is dead, The PR desk is dead, This game's still up but is just an unfinished shell, devoid of life, fucking sucks

all I want is a modernized Black & White. Like in the style of how the original played, not the 2nd one.
