This actually interfered with one of my playthroughs of Skyward Sword. My family members had candles around the tv or somewhere above and my controller would pick up the heat and always be off-center when I turned it on.

Works pretty great considering!! I tried to tape my sensor cable after it broke, but nothing worked. Tried this once with both Tealight Candles and Glass enclosed candles. Both worked great! I'm stoked as, so thank you for this hack! 👌🏻🙏🏻

On the Wii U Wii emulator if you do game pad only mode or tv and gamepad you can use the top part of the game pad as a sensor bar

@PrinceAsbel no, that's the ir tv remote. It's the camera stripe. You can choose display on gamepad and TV and place the gamepad under the TV instead of a sensor bar. You can also just point to the gamepad itself

I have TWO sensor bars (I don't even know why I had the second one) and my cat chewed BOTH of them in half and I literally stripped the wire and twisted them both back together and neither one worked and its so dumb because I don't even need the motion sense to play the game I wanted to play (super paper Mario) I just need it to NAVIGATE THE GAT DANG HOME SCREEN WHICH IS SO STUPID and anyway you saved my night!!! :)

No, you still need the flame. Why it still works without it? Well, let's analyze it with physics. The wii remote needs infrared light to work. Infrared light is a electromagnetic wave that would be emitted by object with high temperature. The flame is high temperature of course. When it burnt out, there is still heat in the candle base. Just like the food won't be cold immediately when we take it out from the cooking equipment.Infrared light is emitted by all object with heat(including human, too), that's why the wii remote still works with the burnt out candle. After some time, it won't work again. TL;DR The candle base is still hot so it works

I just got a refurbished Wii for Christmas. It was my favorite game system years ago and I missed it. I even just purchased a bunch of games from your site this morning after getting it! However, the cursor is really shaky and I can not control it. We adjusted the sensitivity on the sensor with no change. I've ordered a new sensor and we've reached out to the seller but won't hear back from them for a while since their store is on vacation. Is this typically a sensor issue or a remote issue?
