@@kiasportage3180 I don't think anyone was saying that a DL guy should come out, if he is DL.. he is.... the choice is for a person whether or not they want to what the fact is that don't treat others like they are crap because you are afraid of being exposed.. I've had similar experiences in Detroit and I've grown tired of having to play a role to help others feel comfortable with their sexuality. I am a dude, a masculine dude, a dude who isn't afraid of his feminine side but knows he's a man and wants to be with another man. And as far as dominance goes between two men in a relationship I think that if you truly respect each other it comes down to doing what's right for the relationship and respecting and supporting the man you are with. Bless you my friend, I'm glad I've found your channel. ❤️🐻

Unfortunately, masculinity is fragile for a lot of men. Straight, gay, bi, whatever. Too many gay men feel the need to emulate heteronormative gender roles. Too many fem men wanting what their homegirls have, and masc men thinking that it makes them less gay if they're 'the man' in the relationship. How is your masculinity challenged by the man across the table from you also being masculine?! Yet, you wonder why straight people ask ignorant questions like 'which one is the woman?'. Smh.

I use to lean towards DL men because they like that I'm feminine. I felt that I fit better with them and sometimes I still do. In the same breathe it's very dangerous because it could start out fine and flip immediately. I met a guy (6'2 and I'm 5'7)as I was leaving a party in crown heights, he was watching for across the street. He waited till I was far enough from the party to get my attention and I was in the mood so I went with it. It was very late, went back to his place, chilled, smoked, talked and then we started to get it in. In the middle of it he started choking me and his face looked so demonic. I yelled for him to stop and he wouldn't, I thought he was going to kill because I was starting to lose consciousness. I had to dig my fingers into his eyes for him to get off me, it's like he checked on. I was in my early 20s and now I'm almost 40. It was a lesson learned.

Tripp am so glad u got out of that horrible situation, this is why I don't really do much with these dl guys, we have to remember these men will never be comfortable in their space because they spend all of their time living a lie,so whenever u hook up with them, they bring their baggage which they themselves can't deal with,I met dl men who think that am some kind of pushover where they think they can beat the hell out of me and get away with it, this is why dl men needs to come to terms with their sexuality, because in the long run, they will know that the lie they live will blow up in their face,be true to yourself is the best advice we can give to anyone going thru struggles of identifying who they are,be safe and keep your game up tripp, and to my dl cousins, don't use situations to hide who u really are ,man up live up take care.

I think the only thing that I really don’t agree with is the stigma that masculinity is some how synonymous with strength! Ty I don’t think I said that masculinity is synonymous with strength. I don’t believe that at all but I do believe that some straight people believe that it is. In a lot of minds femininity is a female trait and people see women as weaker than men physically. So it definitely is a stigma. I however don’t agree with it all the time. Listening to this situation REALLY REALLY made me rethink my behavior and THANK GOD that he kept me through some of my foolishness from the past yo. This post was so refreshing in the sense that I take life for granted. As a gay male, it’s soooooo hard to find the right matchup with dudes, but I’m still encouraged yet cautious. I use to think it was just the gay community with so much ratchetness but it’s in any walk of life if you’re trying to find the right one to date, befriend, or hook up sexually. Anyhoo, I appreciate this story and it definitely opened my eyes and ears !!!!!

I love your personal narratives, you are very articulate and intelligent when you speak, your analysis in addressing individual-differences when it came to Masculine vs Feminine attitudes, is what I had predicted even before you brought it up. (Don't change who you are, always be your self) My assumption is that the hood guy you met, went to extreme lengths to try to impress you by convincing you, his a "hood thug" it was a technique he used, so you would be even more attracted to him, not realizing in some ways it could backfire. Some DL and fem boys can behave very dysfunctional in their behavior, sometimes this is caused by unstable-relationships or poor environmental upbringing, not knowing 'from right,' from 'wrong', can lead to a lack of empathy for others. My argument is that it shouldn't be about Dl vs fem guys, it should just be about the things you have in common with that guy such as Genuity. Than you for being brave ad handsome, London England xx

Tripp, first mistake, "I like somebody who can handle me, a dominant person, yeah, I like aggressive guys, then you reiterated I'm a dude, I need somebody who can handle me." The DL guy complaining and showing agitation was building up his edge to display dominance and aggression, "getting ready to handle your ass." In my wisdom, you asked for it and you got it, "somebody to handle your ass"(LMAO). Now flipping the script, you had better said you knocked his ass out and almost ripped his face off, cause I ain't settling for less from my brother Tripp Ali. Glad you didn't murder his ass, but as you know, we handle ourselves and hook up with men who handle themselves. Tripp there's a world of difference between an aggressive man and an assertive man. Aggression (a lot of times) goes hand in hand with violence. You don't strike me as the violent type (though we all have violent tendencies). You definitely can meet a hood dude that won't put his hands on you, and treats you with respect (I'm speaking from experience). Thanks for another great story time!

Please be careful!! 🙏❤️ Very risky to mess with a DL guy! They don’t love or respect themselves or value their lives so how/why would they be able to love you, respect you, or value your life! Always have a safe word too!! If you ask for aggression/dominance you may get way more than you like or even feel comfortable with and that can quickly turn into a bad situation!

Sorry you had to go through all that! Growing up in NYC, I hear stories like these because they do happen. It's scary if a total stranger can hit you in public imagine what they're capable of in private! You're lucky things didn't escalate further. He obviously has issues! Glad you're okay and defended yourself, but regardless you didn't deserve it. Unfortunately, the more situations like these happen, the more emotional scars get left behind and harder it gets to trust people. One day you might meet a sweet guy who you really like, total opposite from the one before, who has a big heart and wants nothing but the best for you. He might say the wrong thing and by accident you snap at him or strike him like he was the other dude. He gets scared of you and walks out of your life scarred and he may end up never giving his heart out to anyone ever again. Always be careful and think before you act. Violence should only be used for self defense, but just like when you throw a rock in a pond it also causes a rippling effect. Communication between 2 consenting adults is the key to preventing dangerous unnecessary situations! Trust your instincts!

I have had negative experiences with and it went to far. I had a fight with this guy and ended up with a broken arm. I ended moving out of my apartment at 4:00am. I was afraid of getting jumped. I never saw that guy again. If you get into a situation meet the person somewhere where there are a lot of people. Maybe a restaurant before you go to some place that is private. Maybe tell someone to call you in a few hours. To check on you, have contact you if you’re not feeling good about the situation. I have friends that will understand and help me out because they want me to be safe. Let someone know that you’re going to be here for a few hours and that they need to call 📞 if you don’t contact them. Just try to be safe.

He must’ve thought slapping you was gonna turn you on/ was a sign of foreplay since you said you need somebody that can handle you. Homeboy took the role playing too far. I was bout to say “I know Tripp ain’t let this dude get away with bitch slapping him” 😅😄 Glad you checked him, but I agree that whole situation was dangerous, glad you’ve gained more wisdom from your experiences and move more safely now.

Tripp, I just watched your video man, and I can definitely relate on a very personal level. First and foremost, I want to say thank you for sharing your story man. There are so many individuals that are either going through what you've been through or have experienced it in the past. Also, you wasn't wrong in looking for companionship on a dating app....it just makes you human like everyone else. I really hate that you ended up meeting a real asshole, and that he tainted your overall experience. I just don't want you to blame yourself for that guys actions. We are only responsible for our own actions, not for any others. Its clear that that guy has more underlying issues that require professional help. I just want to give you hope that there is someone out there for you, and when the time is right, that person will find you. As another mentioned, just be mindful and PAY ATTENTION to a persons actions, rather than their words, because people in general will show you who they really are....and BELIEVE them when they show you.... I went through my own bout when I lived in the city, as I was chasing my own dreams as well, and while I had to deal with some real a**holes, I also met genuine individuals as well.... I just want to encourage you to acknowledge whatever feelings you're feeling, and then find the strength to move out and away from that situation. When I lived in the city, (Manhattan, Bronx, and Brooklyn), I had to room up with people as well, and it was the most uncomfortable thing that I've ever had to experience. These roommates were either liars, drug addicts, thieves, manipulators, etc., and I remember vividly how much of a mental strain it was on me. The only thing that kept me sane in all of that was my focus on trying to make my dreams come true. I say this to encourage you man. I really do understand, to a point where I even tried to dumb myself down to try to make others around me comfortable. All I can say, is that by the Grace of God, I was able to finally escape the living nightmare...(more than 5 years later). For the first time in awhile, after getting therapy, I can actually say that I'm finally starting to live the best version of my life. I want to tell you that you deserve so much more than what life has dealt you, and I encourage you to NEVER give up on your dreams man. Whatever you aspire to do and or become, focus on it. I know you mentioned that your from Ohio, and there's a saying....if you can make it in NYC, you can make it anywhere... In addition, I just want to address another point that you made in the video...about getting your own place.... While it sounds practical, I know first hand that unless you're making a decent salary, it is very expensive to get your own place, and most people end up having to room up just to get by....with that being said, I definitely agree with you....if you can afford your own place, by all means, it's the best way to keep your sanity. Man, as I'm writing this, it seems like I'm talking to the alternate version of myself, and while I don't personally know you, I want to encourage you to continue being the BEST version of yourself. No need to impress anyone! Just focus on your purpose in life man, and enjoy life to the fullest. And yea, in light of the whole Corona thing that is going on, keep your spirits up man! You're a very attractive and masculine individual, and your have your entire life ahead of you. Don't let these a**holes steal your joy man. Keep your level of integrity, and NEVER compromise yourself or your morals for anyone man! Remember, your best is yet to come! When this pandemic ends, I encourage you to get a passport if you don't already have one, and travel the world. Or better yet, take a leap of faith and go skydiving....it sounds crazy, but it really is a freeing experience, and whenever you decide to do it, it will change your life and perception on things FOREVER! Ok, I think I've written a novel for this post, so I'm going to chill on the writing for now, but I just want to say, I really do appreciate you having enough courage to post a video of your experience. In a way, it was therapeutic where I was able to reflect on my own past experiences. I hope that you will continue to share your experiences...it will not only help in your healing process, but it can also help someone else that is going through a similar situation. Stay Blessed man!
