It is the ETR crossing of TechumsehSame place you shot kzbin.info/www/bejne/rZbKi52liJiJo6s but I was over by the other crossing gate. They had come out of the tunnel from Detroit, made a 180 on a loop track that connected the CASO line to the ETR & CP and then used the connector from the ETR into the CP yard behind the lumber yard.Apparently at some point they have removed the loop track, but you can still see some of the right of way on google maps

Ooohh! Thats so interesting!! I looked so hard on google maps to find it but had no luck. I knew it had to be on Tecumseh cuz thats what it looked like but i didnt know where. Now that you said that i can totally see it! Thanks for info!

Its funny, I knew right where it was, but then couldn't find it on the map either because of the track layout changes.I assume that since CP interchanges with CSX & NS in Detroit that they don't need to go from the tunnel directly into the yard in Windsor.

Awesome video! Times have changed drastically since then. Have you done any train watching in the city since the 90s? Also just so you know that is the Hall Ave. crossing on ETR and the correct spelling is Tecumseh Rd.

Glad you liked it. I think it's been about a decade since I've been to Windsor. Most of my trips were in the early to mid '90s.Not sure where that extra H came from. I will fix that, thanks for the heads up.

Dan Cluley Oh ok. I live in Windsor so you can see some of my videos of what it looks like today. That loop track that went between ETR and the CP CASO Connector is gone, CN Windsor South is pretty much abandoned, the old spur that crossed the ETR at College is gone, CP took out the siding that ran between Walkerville Jct. and Lakeshore Jct. but they added Walkerville Yard at Central Ave. and extended Walkerville Siding all the way to Walker Road and put crossovers in just West of Jefferson and just East of Walker Road. Homeland Security added lights and cameras along the right of way between the VACIS scanner and the tunnel as well. The VACIS machine scans all of the Westbound trains entering the States so that they can see if there are any stowaways. There's a lot more rail police in the city too along CP and you can only railfan at the tunnel on College. The yards along the riverfront are gone, the original CP mainline stops at the North end of Windsor Yard by Wyandotte. ETR switches Hiram Walker now instead of CN and the CASO has been ripped up East of Walker Road.

Thanks for the updates. My first trip was in '88 or '89 and things were already changing by the early '90s.Even back then you needed to keep an eye out for the RR police if you were anywhere near the tunnel or the ETR bridge. My most recent trip through was a quick stop in 2004 on my way to Niagara Falls. The old (1960s?) VIA station was still there then. Did they remodel that or is it a whole new building now?

Dan Cluley The VIA station on Walker?

Correct. From current photos it looks very different than what I remember from 10-20 years ago.
