Can we get a video of you talking about a specific type of shoe. For example. Sandals, get the best 5 sandals and compare them all. Pros cons and everything in between. Compare specs, your thoughts on them. Everything. All in one video.

Very cool, nice coverage buddy. They have a nice print your size link on their customization page, which has different foot shapes, which is sweet. I'm the wide foot shape. You could also print to see what kind of foot shape you are, if you have bad eyes like me and can't really tell by a foot trace, haha. Thank you for the upload and to DLD for sending them over.

Yea, I love it when brands have foot tracings, it makes things so easy. The standard shape is what I went with I think.

Nice video! I think about ordering mine but I was wondering if the SVG is grippy enough in water/river?
@AndrewFolts3 ай бұрын
I actually use my DLD's specifically for wet conditions, because the SVG has a rough texture that grips, even in water. That said, no sandal will ever offer as snug a fit as a full water shoe.

This is perfect timing again brother. I got some Xero z-treks and Genesis recently, and while the Genesis will sort of work width wise because I really aggressively sized up, the z treks aren't gonna work at all, even as customs. So I've been looking at people who will do custom work for a reasonable fee, and DLD had a lot of really good word of mouth. I already had the model I wanted in a checkout cart, and this video has given me the confidence to go ahead and buy them. The only thing I'm going to wait for now is to see if the show up on your website or if you drop an affiliate link so I can help you out for giving me the advice. Thanks man
@AndrewFolts Жыл бұрын
Ha, good timing! Adam's just a one-man shop and doesn't have affiliate links, so you can go ahead and order them whenever you want. Which footbed did you go with?

I'm curious how these performed for running compared to the Shammas - especially the straps. Did your foot shift around more or less than the Shamma? Is the toe thong more comfortable? How about adjustability? I'm enjoying the Shamma elite strapping, but wonder how long the velcro will actually hold out. Thanks for putting these videos together and highlighting smaller makers like DLD - it's super helpful when there's not many reviews for cottage-industry stuff like this.
@AndrewFolts Жыл бұрын
Shamma's lockdown is probably the best, although I like the feel of the Perception's strap system better. They use the same sole. The velcro on my Xero sandals wore out pretty quick, so I'd say the DLD's straps would hold up better.

@@AndrewFolts Do you think the shamma warriors in leather would affect the grip of the foot when running from your experience? Also is there a benefit to getting leather instead of the regular grip?(cleaning,smell and so on)
@AndrewFolts Жыл бұрын
@@Criticalmaze Leather is better for dry conditions. It feels more natural and comfortable to me, but the synth one's are better if you plan on getting them wet a lot. For dry the grip is good on both. Leather is antimicrobial, so the smell is better.

Very nice. I love the hanging spinning sandal 😂 Have you tried the naboso trail sport sandal before? They said the naboso is supposed to stimulate your feet. I watched another review of it and said it was true but wanted to know your opinion on it.
@AndrewFolts Жыл бұрын
Haven't tried that specifically but the SVIG sole I got on the Perception is textured and kind of has the same effect, so yea, I expect it might feel nice. Thanks for noticing the spinning sandal, ha! Have to keep myself entertained, ya know. (:

Yo man love your channel. I am headed to South Africa and I just ordered some T-Rocket Yeti Distance barefoot sandals. I was wondering if they came across your radar, if you have seen or tried them or if you'd reach out to them. I think the owner only has a few people who works for him and I love supporting small businesses so maybe you could do a review. Thank for the great reviews.
@AndrewFolts11 ай бұрын
My problem with barefoot sandals is that I want something like 4mm and they're all 6mm+. T-Rocket's thinnest is 8mm, I think. They look similar to DLD, Monk, and other small companies I've tested, tho. Should work great.

@@hunterhart1 Probably the Monk Ruivo kzbin.info/www/bejne/jmfNhoqLfMZ8Z7c, but TBH I prefer running in shoes much more, because sandals are always slip around, no matter how good the straps are.

deliberate designs has a major design flaw due to a lazy production process. Avoid this brand

@GhostObsessed4 ай бұрын
The main connection point of the strap that sits between your big toe. That connection strength relies entirely on the very thin (1.8mm to 2.5mm) vibram sole that is used as a footbed. This is a very lazy method to make that connection, for what is the most important part of the huarache. Instead, if the hole was punched part way thorough the footbed in a smaller diameter and then counter sunk utilizing a washer in a larger diameter for the ground connection it would make for a vastly more durable connection. Also, all of the hardware on my pair was meant for a smaller size lace. Just clearly, a lazy manufacturer that is more concerned with pinching every cent from a sale than he is concerned about producing a well-made durable product.
