I own both brand new actually just purchased them. And ue boom 2 is a bit louder and feels a little more premium. But the wonder boom is maybe 5-10% lower in volume yet sounding more natural

Strange. WIth really good headphones, the Boom 2 sounded WAY better than the Wonderboom in this video. It was a different class altogether. The wonderboom sounded thinner, less natural, in all music styles. Interesting then that you reach the opposite conclusion! But live is a different thing than a video I guess...

Microphone must be crappy at recording bass, as the more realistic assessment would be to say that the Boom 2 is too boomy around 100 Hz while the Wonderboom is more accurate/hi-fi and goes deeper.

Personally I think that the UE Boom 2 sounded a lot Fuller and I couldn't really hear the lower frequencies of bass with the wonderboom maybe I should have had headphones on. Thanks for the awesome and very in-depth review.

The UE Boom 2 may be louder but the UE Wonderboom has better bass and an overall better balanced sound. It's more pleasing to my ear. It is refreshing to know that UE has actually made excellent strides in improving their sound. In my opinion Wonderboom wins.

I have flip 4 and wonderboom. I can keep listening to uewb 4 to 5 hours at a stretch but flip 4 gets too sharp to the extent that the treble hurts my ears. Flip is good for 1 to 2 hours but later causes ear fatigue. Boom sounds far realistic natural and is easy on ears. May be I have ears of a 34 year old. JBL might sound better to younger ppl. Idk. But uewb is my go to speaker.

I own both and can't disagree more. The boom 2 can distort at louder volumes, but you can always turn it from 100 to 90. It will still sound better and louder than the wonderboom.

Wonderboom is just as good. Instead of spending more money on Boom 2, you can buy 2 Wonderbooms and pair them to get a much nicer sound experience. Note: Wonderboom can only be paired among themselves, They don't pair with Boom 2..

wonderboom sounds like you're listening to what could be a good speaker a long way away. The Boom 2 sounds like you're listening to a decent speaker through a pillow. Way too much base. Neither sounds good, but I'd take the boom 2 any day, and just turn down the base a ton. Way more potential in the boom 2

Dipankar Barman no, xb30 is best among the new xb series speaker of Sony this year. Xb40 is way too bass heavy which lacks treble. I own two units xb3 and thinking to upgrade to xb30.

Tyler Nelson the flip 3 has nothing to secure it. No strap, clip or even a hole for a lanyard. For boating or kayaking it's hard to recommend even though it floats. Also I wasn't impressed with the sound quality.
