Puch Timing With Woodruff Key E50 ZA50 Cross CDI Ignition

This is the cross CDI from Dos Cycles. I wanted to time this with the woodruff key. It sucked. Next time I would just do it without the woodruff key. Why would I bother messing around with dremeling a stator like that?

Been eyeing this CDI, seems like a great new option! I would have done the extra work for the woodruff key too - if you ever need to take the flywheel off in the future it makes it easy. At the very least it's personally satisfying to get the timing dead on after the dremeling.

yeah. I normally just run it without a woodruff key. But for some reason I really wanted to make this work.

I did a lot of drilling new holes on the stator plate. But I have mine set much lower at 1.3mm

I love this cdi kit and my only complaint is the stator plate and flywheel needs to be marked for where spark happens. Only complaint

In my younger days, many many years ago I never put any attention into this. How much difference would it make to time it perfectly?

Well it will run better. Maybe it would run cooler or have more power. Depending how you had it timed originally

Corn Ped, hey bud I got my engine and bike back together! I will get this bike running closer to when it gets warmer. Right now I am going to build my motorized bicycle. I am using a six port single ring piston for my engine. Also are new moped parts tighter then the old ones? They still rotate freely and don't bind at all but are these parts tighter when new from treats? If they are I can't believe that it was running in the shape it was- W

The bikes feels COMPLETELY DIFFERENT then what it was feeling like. I'm converting it all over to a 12V system with a Pietcard CDI system..

They are always selling out of the one I have. This one is cool. It has 1mm threads so if you spin the piston stop 1 full rotation that equals 1mm. www.treatland.tv/ignition-micrometer-p/ignition-micrometer.htm
