While I am glad we got the original back with the reboot's amazing combat mechanics and further improved, I can't deny that after playing the rebooted DMC I was looking forward to seeing where it was headed. It felt like they were onto something with this alternate-reality DMC universe.

Ironically, main plot of DMC5 would've feet very nice into hypothetical DmC 2: Vergil went completely nuts and become demon king and unleashed blood-sucking tree into the human World. As of how it is plot of DMC5 is really weak: we have Virgil genociding entire city (again) then at the end he suddenly have change of heart and is kinda the good guy. Well, that came out of nowhere...

i'm not going to lie. this game looks kinda cool. it's a pretty well done artstyle and i really love how cutscenes and gameplay have the same quality. another thing i love is how, like in monster hunter world, cutscenes smoothly transition into gameplay. dmc devil may cry can never live up to the original series but based off of this, it looks pretty neat!

This boss fight takes place in an environment that is reminiscient to Jin's battle with Devil Jin in Tekken 8,which is also a battle against the character's darkside to acquire more power.

I personally liked how DmC felt less flashy or anime-ish in gameplay compared to other DMC games. The moves have some pronounced weight to them and feel satisfying. Dmc5 clearly tried to implement this a little which is why I love that game too. DmC's story could've been better but it's gameplay for the definitive edition was very fun in my opinion.

Story and character wise, it was ass. Base game edition was terrible but it redeemed itself slightly with the Definitive Edition. I liked it but I give it a 5/10
