Does anyone else think that this weapon was supposed to be the breaker you get for defeating Artemis instead of Buster Arm? Its main abilities revolves around air movement and lasers. I feel like that was the case, then they decided later on to give it to you immediately cause of how good it was as a starting weapon

I feel like Devs later decided that if the Buster will be available from the beginning, it would overshadow the Overture. Good call, but there was no boss that would fit as an ingredient for the Buster. Even as it is, I've started actively using Overture only after beating the game.

It's almost certain that that was the case. Both of its break ages are based on attacks by Artemis (both the boss and the weapon), Petal Ray is basically the same attack as Nightmare-β's shot. Nico picks up one of Artemis' orbs in the cutscene after you beat her, and from looking at the game files we know that (along the other boss parts you see in cutscenes) was going to be an in-game item or at least have a screen. Gerbera GP-01 even has the expected purple coloration to its lasers, so I'd wager they were meant to be that color originally, and maybe GP-01's was the original moveset before they gave it a parry attack to make it more versatile. Lastly if you look into the in-game files you'll notice it's actually Helter-Skelter that comes second after Overture, and Gerbera is later, after Punchline; the same order shows up in the artbook.

Gerbera has been one of my favorite arms since the demo the extra mobility is great and the Break ages are beautiful I remember reaching that small room in the demo and thinking "this is definitely a Petal Ray room" to then get a SSS combo immediately also i feel like the DLC version could've been been explained here since the only difference I've noticed is the neutral being different and that doesn't really take an entire video to explain

GP01's palm is an upgrade, both air and ground versions can parry, and it has invincible frames like the jocky thrusts.
