I picked up one and have used it on two of my cameras. Yashica 124 g with the cable and Pentax LX with the hot shoe. I mostly used the half power and the results were great.

The reflex ii has a built in battery that charges by usbc and it is tiny. The recharge times seem pretty quick. Also the flash power is selected in camera on my ricoh . No option on the flash body.

Reflx Lab didn't send me this flash (they sent me the mini one, which I didn't finish that video on yet eek, had to shoot a wedding today) I bought the simple flash, but mine did not come with those gels. Bummer!

I didn’t know about the gels until I went to their website. After seeing them on there, I opened the box again and discovered the gels underneath a little cardboard divider.

I need a simple handheld slave flash. The stuff they have in the thrift store has too many buttons and idk how any of it works

If you like vintage film cameras (who doesn't?), find and buy a functioning Minolta AL-F or HiMatic-E to use with this flash. Those cameras were designed to be used with full-power manual flashes, as they set the aperture based on focusing distance with manual flashes. You select the guide number on the lens, and the camera does the rest. You can get Wegee-like black backgrounds in many lighting situations, shooting manual flash, if the flash is powerful enough. A guide number of 10 likely won't do that in most situations.

I just bought the 2nd version and i cannot get it expose correctly even at 1/3 power. Even in manual mode. I have a griiix and its like the camera overides everything i do

I figured out what i was doing wrong. I was not in M and i thought i was. This flash is a beast @ it's lowest setting. I pre-ordered it like a month ago and it came yesterday. I love the griiix
