I was watching the fight with canelo pp lickers, and they were saying, "Only canelo can beat Bivol." I was laughing as Beterbiev came back into the fight in round 4 and laughed as he proceeded to dominate him late. Canelo fans wanted Bivol to win so bad and it just didn't happen. Bivol masterclass, amazing jab and combination counterpunching and stood his ground, controlled Artur first 2/3 fight. Artur masterclass last 1/3 of the fight with quick feet, closing off the ring and hurtful combinations. Both amazing talents and a joy to watch the technical aspects, first impression I thought bivol did enough. Will have to watch it again.

It seemed that beyond the first few rounds, Bivol's gameplan was to try to lull Beterbiev into a sense of control, and whenever he would get too comfortable, Bivol would try to surprise him with combinations. However, that sort of gameplan only works when you really wobble the opponent and land devastating shots. Artur was still able to use his high guard to wear off Bivol's combos whilst owning the center of the ring and landing punches consistently, even if they were partially blocked. Bivol did not win this fight. He was only fighting in spots and not with the level of consistency that Beterbiev was fighting at, which ultimately lost him the fight. No way was this a "robbery."

For the rematch I consider the chances of KO are bigger and I expect Beterbiev to close it early, unless another injury comes or the fight postponed for another two years, when Beterbiev would be 41. I don't expect better Bivol performance in the same way, they both will avoid getting it to the judges score cards again, so the fight will be way more interesting.

I rewatched fight next day and the robbery only looked worse. Artul was chasing shadows for 9 rounds, he hardly threw anything. He one 10-12 that is it. And even when Bivol was exhausted as he had to move so much throughout fight Artul still could NOT catch him clean. I had it a close fight but I thought Beterbiev won. I think you could make the argument that Bivol won if he significantly outlanded Beter, but the difference is only 5 punches. I thought Beter applied pressure, took away Bivol's greatest weapon which is the jab and he landed the more significant punches. He also won the championship rounds. He also threw 200 more punches not allowing bivol to throw the jab. He threw 200+ more and the punch landing difference is only 5! meaning Bivol couldn't counter as effectively and was running away. Again I thought it was a great fight, I think Bivol is a good fighter but Beterbiev won imo.
