Currently in the Middle East markets the 2022 Nissan Patrol has a Totally new Designed dashboard with a 10" screen similar to the Landcruiser 300 series in the Left Hand drive models as well as a Totally new Steering wheel and these New Model Patrols are currently manufactured in Japan where their own vehicles are right hand drive , and in Dubai they also have the new Nismo high powered Model with Alcantara Fabric what gives Nissan Australia

I just can’t agree on 4/5 points after 2 years full time with hard core tracks and towing around Australia in our Y62 Patrol! Even the winch is handy for helping others you 4x4 with (unless they are also Patrols 😎)… The wood grain however is annoying 😖 From one KZbinr to another, there may be a bit of click bait here… 😉📈

Let me guess, 1) its not a Toyota, 2) its not a Toyota, 3) its not a Toyota, 4) its not a Toyota, 5) its not a Toyota. The reason why its easier to replace the CV's on a Toyota, is because you break them more often. Seriously though, Oz is right hand drive, they sell tens of thousands more Patrols to left hand drive markets in the Middle East and North America. The business case for a right hand drive interior refresh is just not there.

Agree with fully mate, not a fan of Nissan when they decided to go IRS and IFS. They should have stuck with solid Axel (bring back the Y61) plus the Y61 is far more customisable underneath and on top then what the Y62 is.

@@JCTHEKEEWEE I have been searching an aftermarket head unit for my Y62 for a while. But all of them have too much dramas and they all look ugly as well. Also, it’s a 4x4 truck, the head unit should be the last mod you should worry about. Spend your money on other stuff before change it..

Great points mate I can deal with everything you said except the interior in my opinion the 2021 Navara had a much better looking interior I don’t know what Nissan was doing giving us wood grain not to mention that rubbish Infotainment system I expect a little more effort for a car that cost 90k plus at least throw in the tow bar for free if we wanted it 😂

If your not getting to use the winch enough you need to try tracks other than 1s that most 4x4s can do in 2wd... Also if it busts driveshafts doing skids in mud...that doesnt sound strong enough..how are they going to go in low range 1st fully loaded climbing up very steep rocky hills, I would hate to bust a driveline part when you really need to rely on them

I Agree with the rear alignment maintenance, I just wheel align after each big trip, or service! As for the rest I'm used to my 79, so the wife's 62 dash seems like luxury still! Love that DC build though!

Great vid but I have to disagree with the shock comments. Go drive a new 300 series and then you’ll know the definition of wallowy. The Patrol drives like a dream in the TI-L spec. The harder you push it the better it drives. The new cruiser in my opinion is a boat in a storm to the point of getting sea sick.

I thought one of the first things I'd do is the wood grain delete. But I've grown to not hate it and I'm not a techi person for the infotainment system doesn't bother me at all. It connects to my phone and plays my music. Half the time I dont even bother accepting the start up warning screen. 🤣

Yeah the centre console/headunit is lame. I kept 33" on mine never had a problem with the suspension/or shafts but mine is series 1 so i dont have hydraulics. I also dont drive it like its a $1500 car through the tracks. I will be selling mine soon, had it a long time now and finished touring for now. Its pretty good as a 4wd (a bit big, in the bush tracks, especially if someone's coming from the other direction) and absolutely fantastic as a tourer/dune/beach buggy which i used it for mainly. If your not a car guy like me and brands dont mean squat to you its worth the buy. I wouldn't buy a new (any brand car) buy second hand. You can get a y62 for $50k with some fruit. The step up in cars across brands from 1990ish ($20k) to 2015 ($50k) is absolutely worth it you get so much more (abs, fuel injection, airbags, cruise control, rear camera, sat nav etc). But the next jump up across brands 2015-2022 to $100k+ is piss poor value. Your essentially paying $50k plus for adaptive cruise control and a big screen. Y62 2013-2015 is bang for buck across brands in my opinion. The only thing against it really is if you specifically need a ute.

But please don’t compare the current crop of passenger vehicle diesels to a truck diesel. They have nothing in common not even the fuel they use.

Why petrol? I have a 2002 Pajero, 3.8lt petrol. Fabulous vehicle but off road it eats the fuel and with independent suspension all round not game to tackle the hard tracks. I have been told if I win lotto I can get live axles and fill the tank.

The cvs isnt a issue on non blown or vehicles with smaller wheels as 35s and 37s kills every cvs but agree on the winch and head unit but disagree on 2 out of 5 of your hates as i have owned 2 of these and had no cvs or shocks blown when i take mine offroad but do get wheel alignments after big days out offroad and not the normal 200 series chicken
