I was at camp Essayons, from about May 86 until may 87. I also have many, many fond memories of Korean duty. I wish I could find someone else from Essayons during that time to get in contact with.I made some of the best friends while there, never met any that were better after coming back state side. We all had each others backs and never let the other guy get into trouble if we could help it. I had lots of pictures that were from my year there and all were destroyed , except 2 or 3. I was in Service Battery 6/37th F.A. as Battery Armorer also 13B MOS.

I was in the air when the prez Pak was killed. My orders was for 520 mt at Humphreys but that got squashed. Ended up at Hq bat in the motor pool. Hated that place. I jist kept getting busted on slicky over night passes. Went from a e4 to a e2 in bout 3 months. Yes its my fault. I have a total pf 5 years in Korea so it wasnt the country it was the unit. Sucked.

I was at camp liberty Bell , we constructed the camp in 1967 . We were attacked by six north korean positions on the hill above the camp , killing 5 and wounding 25 . Mike Vogel was killed in the assault . Later , Bonifast was killed in the tree incident at the jsa site , camp liberty Bell was then referred to as camp Bonifast . That did not go over with the men of Charlie co in the 76th eng bn . We believe if the camp name should have been , considered as camp Vogel . This was the biggest attack since the Korean war , just saying

Between getting drunk & "visiting" the girls in the village my husband was an MP in South Korea stationed near the DMZ in 1967. At the time the Twilight War was going on in South Korea although I don't think many people in the States knew about it because Vietnam made all the headlines. My husband was at Gyeonggi-do from September 1966 until November 1967. He rotated back to the States not too long before the Pueblo was captured.
