I remember having this on my pull list back in the day. Older me is thinking a dozen facial piercings in a war zone is not as great of an idea as the artist might think it is.

You do know that they didn't just get them peirced, right? I used to have mad facial peircings in the early 2000's and hopped freight trains full of rusty metal and road in coal cars. Plus I lived on the streets and was just fine. It's no different than ears once they are healed. I doubt ears get infected from years old peircings

DMZ is a great comic and Brian wood is one of my top comic writers. I hear the HBO series isn't doing well, but don't let that stop you from reading the comic.

The show is pretty good! After just a minute of this video I see the Big difference but they did a pretty damn good job with the show. Then again, I’m speaking as someone who didn’t know about these comics and actually do like when they change stuff so (like with shows/movies of comics I have read) we don’t automatically know what’s going to happen or who’s going to be in it. Edit: in my opinion, I think with this 1st miniseries HBO Max did, they’re goal was to set up how Zee ended up in the DMZ. I’m no psychic but I’ve been pretty damn right every time I tell folks what I think is coming next after seeing shows/movies like these… If you watch the “show”/miniseries, I would think you’ll come to the same conclusion. As I watch this video, all I can think is (1) I have to get these comics for my collection! And (2) it seems obvious that season 1 is purely for us to understand why Zee is a character we should pay attention to. Although I will say the way the 1st season ends doesn’t match up with how this story starts with her character. I do have a strong feeling we’ll see Matty in season 2, one way or another.

Part of me wants to. But I can only handle 1 volume of a book a week right now, and this series is 11 volumes, so it would be 3 months of nothing but DMZ and I’d rather cover some other stuff. This is why I’d love to go full time KZbin, so I can cover a few books at a time.

@@dannymalt if you enjoyed the DMC as a graphic novel I'd recommend not watching the HBO trash heap of an attempt at 4 hours of BS. I'm sure they tried their best to adapt a story...... I mean steal a name and bait people in that are avid fans of the series. Honestly when I saw Rosario Dawson was in it I was OMG what a great person to play Zee and was forever waiting for Mathew to be announced..... Then it was released an I couldn't even get past the 1st episode cause it made literally no sense.

@@paulhay8357 After how Hollyweird has "fixed" James Bond, I'm not surprised that this adaption has completely deleted (as far as I know) the male character of Matty from a potential lead role. His story of a photo journalist trying to break out on his first big job and then getting more than he bargained for was so interesting.

Sounds like it would've made a great miniseries, maybe seven years ago, with Shia Labeouf [y'know; before he went nuts] as Matty, and Rosario Dawson as Zee. Now Dawson is apparently set to play this 'icon of hope' within the DMZ. The HBO mini is gonn'a suck, juts like the 'Y' series

I guess Staten Island is part of the United States in this story since the DMZ isn't part of it. Odd considering that borough is the only self-sufficient county separate from NYC and the largest county of the 5 boroughs where there's a fully functioning naval base stationed there.

Really hate how the writer and artists give these tv series so much great content that wed like to see explained in nuance but we end up with a show thats barely the same concept and goes off the rails -we all know what happens to the characters- instead of someone to care about or someone we love to hate - we get hollowed out and ___washed ppl who are hardly noticeable - it takes an expensive gifted actor to tackle those or theres nothin to miss when theyre gone. See where this is going, hopefully ill be surprised at 1 or the other - its too much asking for both to be any good
