Great! I now have a base to work on my Gauss Warframe build. A warforged speedster. And Volt, a lightning based warframe. Volt can't be as fast as Gauss. But sacrifice a speed for lightning powers, it can work.

What does the DM do if you never attack but end your turn like: i build all this speed in a turn and let go of a ballbearing infront of the BBEG. Technicaly no attack has happend. But if you'd use something like the falldmg rule to see how hard it would hit, im sure noone can withstand all these D4's.

Here's one: Ruroni Kenshin from Samurai X: is he a kensai monk with specialty in longsword or a fighter that is a duelist specialist? I know as a kensai you can use missle weapons, but I would like to see your take on it

Totally! I think Kenshin Himura makes for a great Swashbuckler Rogue, probably with some fighter levels for extra attack, hard not to go Samurai subclass… Makes me want to homebrew a reverse-blade katana, maybe something that only deals 1d4+ dex, except on a 19 or 20 it deals 1d10+1+dex… would take some work, but I think with Samurai Fighting Spirit giving you advantage on all attacks, giving you a better chance at the high rolls, plus the Swashbuckler Rakish Audacity giving you sneak attack damage reliably when you’re only hitting for 1d4… It sounds fun!

What would a equip based power be like in DnD? I was thinking of Erza Scarlet from fairy Tail and how she has different powers based on what she is wearing. It would be anice reference for creating a fashion based character, that works like her, but instead of armor just different clothing

1. Having an ally cast Dissonant Whispers on you instead will let you use your full movement speed for your reaction instead of half. 2. You’re missing a trick using Metamagic Adept (you’ll also need a single level in Sorcerer). When you deal damage to an enemy with Ashardalon’s Stride, you can use Empowered Spell on it. If you’re attuned to and wearing a Feywild Shard, this lets you roll on the Wild Magic Surge table. Roll and 81 or 82 and you get an additional action to dash again.

i know its a bit late, but im curious about what an Archer (Fate/Stay Night) build would look like Skip this next part if you want, just me talking about personal build, but please do your own thing if you want to do it at all! I had a kinda dumb idea of making him a Genie warlock that doesnt take the wish spell (never gets the grail, but does wish to be a hero). Bladelock of course, use EB for basic arrows, and spells and Limited Wish to emulate the weapons and shields from Unlimited Blade Works projection magic, Demiplane and Plane Shift/Banishment for the reality marble itself, etc.. add on Foresight spell for his Mind's Eye (True) skill, and 3 levels of Eldritch Knight Fighter to double up on summoning swords to get both at once, and i feel i got pretty accurate

@@dndbuilds I never played d&d so i don't know much about it, but just like how after you have certain dexterity you can use charisma as a strength is it not possible to use speed as strength to cause some damage since something moving at that much speed can do a lot of damage even with a small impact from their body

This build specifically? Not really, it's mostly just a hypothetical build challenge rather than a practical one. Even if you could pull it off, it takes a lot of investment and DM buy-in for something that doesn't really give much benefit. If you want a more practical speedster, you actually go just bladesinger wizard for 6 levels. Tabaxi for feline agility, pick up the mobile feat at level 4, pick longstrider as a 1st level spell, and Ashardalons stride as a 3rd level spell. So it comes online at 5th level (basically when Wizard itself comes online) You can do Kinetic Jaunt as a 2nd level spell to be a decent hit and run character, as well as pick-up misty step for those moments where you get stuck somewhere. But when it comes online. 30 + 10 (mobile) + 10 (bladesong) 10 (longstrider) + 20 (Ashardalons) = 80 ft, with the ability to double it to 160 ft movement. So just multiply that to 320 if you want to dash. This is without an absurd amount of multiclassing, only one ASI investment, and can be done without magic items or team members sacrificing their resources or builds to do it. It also does damage to enemies you run by, and functionally acts as an AOE for every enemy your trail touches (as well as catching objects on fire for some spice) The best part? You're still a functional wizard, and can otherwise build a normal bladesinger/wizard from here on out, and just upcast Ashardolon's stride as you go up. It also goes well with booming blade hit and run tactics. Not to mention, each addition to your base speed makes it easier to make the most of Ashardolon's as an AOE damage spell. For multiclassing, you could go rogue 2 for resource-free BA dashing, fighter 2 for fighting style (dueling) plus action surge. Wouldn't recommend more than that, and would suggest not multiclassing at all.

Aren’t you doubling your speed incorrectly? If I have 30ft and dash, I have 60. Which means, if I dash again, I now have 120ft. That seems to be the consensus on how that works

Dashing just uses your movements speed, so if you have 30 feet of movement, and you use your action to dash that becomes 60 ft in total, and then if you want to use your movement again to dash as a bonus action or something, that's just another 30 feet of movement

A player on my game wants to go with a speed build, and I'm not gonna stop him from doing it, I said completely useless to get more movement speed in a combat but then he suggested he can just ram with his body into the target, I said he would also take damage and he said he wouldn't care How much damage should it deal?

If you want to go that route, I would recommend that every 10 ft over a normal amount of speed, starts doing damage similar to fall damage

I have a question. Obviously this is just for fun, and no real DM would allow the insane items to help you break the sound barrier, but is this actually true RAW? I feel like certain things might have been stacked even if they couldn’t stack RAW. If it is all on the up and up that’s insane, obviously totally useless, but insane all the same

Take the charge feat and convince your dm that because your moving the so fast you do extra damage based on some formula that takes you maximum speed and divides by some number and results so many d4 to d6 worth of damage. You would divide the maximum speed by 100 hundred. Which comes out to 84.3 of damage which might be 12d8s but they still have to hit the target,

Oh yeah it's usefulness is pretty ridiculously low, unless you just want to run to the nearest town and get the guards to help you in a combat lol then run back and let the rest of the party know that help is on its way even if it takes them like 20 turns to get there
