What do you suggest I do if weeds have overtaken my yard? My yard is only separated from my neighbors yards on both sides by wire fences, so I'm afraid it may be difficult to maintain being weed free if I treat the weeds and they creep back in my yard from their yards.
@anonasouthern37792 жыл бұрын
Good advice. I now gotta do my own lawn maintenance now except cutting it. Great info! I only have Roundup right now. How long after can I then pull up the weeds? I may have to replace my weed tarp in my flower beds soon cuz weeds are growing through them after one year…..😩
@LawnAmateur2 жыл бұрын
You can pull the weeds up after a week. Give the product time to get down to the root to kill it off properly. And when I use the tarp I always double layer it that seems to really keep the weeds out for good.

I have crabgrass that I sprayed tenacity on in the spring and it is now all back. Would spectracide do a better job? Thanks for another great video!
@LawnAmateur2 жыл бұрын
Yea the spectracide will do a good job of handling crabgrass. You may need to spray 2 application.

We bought a new construction build house, the backyard hasn’t been done so it’s just dirt. After 6 months, and historic California rain of 2023, it’s a weed jungle out there! One is almost over 5 ft tall! I have the Ortho GroundClear because that’s what Costco is selling. If it doesn’t work, I will return it and check out the products you mention. So after I spray, do I still have to pull the weeds out or what? And is there something i can do to treat the yard to prevent weeds from coming back? We’re planning to layout turf and interlocking flooring tiles since we want something quick and simple for the kids this summer and aren’t ready to drop $20-30k on pavers installation (the cost is INSANE!) Thanks for the videos!
@LawnAmateur Жыл бұрын
I would say you're going to have to get those tall weeds down then mow the yard. Looking into Glyphosate by Roundup or a store will do. And to keep weeds away look into Tenacity that stuff works great at keeping weeds away so laying the turf would be no problem. Check Amazon for Tenacity a little bit of that stuff goes along way
@igobythisname Жыл бұрын
@@LawnAmateur thanks for the reply! I appreciate the feedback and recommendations, I’ll check it out. I’m gearing up right now to just hit the whole backyard with my Ortho RTU I got from Costco, is this going to be a waste of time and effort? My backyard is pretty small..

Are you looking to spray your entire yard for weeds? If you want a large backpack sprayer Walmart, Home Depot and Lowes have them. Walmart may have the best price overall. You can also check Amazon

Great info per usual looking forward to this series (someone basically tried to scare me out of round up the other day) but those nozzles make for better accuracy BUT it wont do too much damage if it hits the grass right?
@LawnAmateur2 жыл бұрын
No, this formula is made only to treat weeds and not to harm the actual lawn. Yes I like the nozzle features the most because it does help with an more accurate spray. Any products you use you have to wear proper ppe to protect yourself at all times. Thank you for the support 🙏🏾 much appreciated

@LawnAmateur Жыл бұрын
There's really no organic weed killer on the market. Only thing you can do is mix up vinegar, salt and dawn soap thats an organic weed killer most people use.
@jacklavoie25232 жыл бұрын
how long does it take for the weeds to be gone? thanks
@LawnAmateur2 жыл бұрын
They start to show damage in 48 hours. But a complete kill can take 7-14 days
