There are some comments in here that kind of explain it, and you guys were in the right track. Pam was texting Jim the whole time because she was going to invite him to come to the party with her. When it cuts back and he’s passed out on his desk you can hear his phone vibrating, as you mentioned, because of Pam’s texts. Also the reason she told Michael she expected something to happen tonight. Roy left the party because he saw how good of a time she was having and didn’t want to intervene

@@tiktaktictac lol he could’ve simply left work and went to the party. Had he not had to work late or been drinking. As you can tell by the time the party is over it is fairly late. He would’ve had plenty of time to make it there. Plus I don’t think we’re ever told specifically where the party is, meaning it could be closer to Stamford than even the office in Scranton, although it is a good bet to say it was probably in Scranton. They are only a couple hours apart however. It’s unlikely that he would’ve made it for the entirety of the party, but he definitely could’ve made it before it ended

Adam Sandler was a stand up comedian before he was a famous movie star. He had several comedy albums, and he did a lot of funny songs. On one of them, he did a hanukkah song called "The Hanukkah Song," and it got very popular. Give it a listen and you'll see Michael's take on it wasn't too bad, lol.
