Agm batteries won't reach maximum charge unless a much higher voltage is applied, even the float is 13.5v

I'm wondering why my agm battery says to charge at 0.25A x 5~10H. Trying to understand. I was paranoid about my charger.

@@Imarida2 amps are not the same as voltage. However, a charge rate of 0.25amps is extremely low, That is probably the "float" charge rate, the bulk rate (aka absorbtion) would be conciderably higher.

I have an everstart platinum battery that was totally dead...Im using a Noco genius 2 to slow charge it. There is an agm setting on the charger. Should I be using that setting. Right now I just have it on the standard 12v charge. But the battery does say "AGM" technology on it

@@edithboozy1000 if it's an AGM battery, then you should use the AGM setting. If the battery has been zeroed out (at or below 10v) for an extended period of time, you may want to try a pulse repair charger, but only if the batteries performance is poor after a full charge.

@@Imarida2 think of it like bending a piece of metal back straight again. You need to go further past straight before it ends up straight again. Same with a battery (any battery pretty much) And again, amps is a measure of current (speed) volts is a measure of volume/power. Like cars on a highway. Volts=the amount of cars, amps= how fast they travel.
