The group of adults that I thought of was 20-40 (50ish) as they have spend a lot of their time on the internet as well and actually learn a lot on it too. My high school teachers have always been pretty positive about the internet, even using youtube (kurzgesagt for example) sometimes during class. They also know how much educational content there is and has been accessed to prepare for exams. And my current professors have even told us that wikipedia is a good place to start peak your maths interests. So they are definitely aware of the learning opportunities on the internet. And besides, most of the actually educational youtubers are in that age range. The only adults I would think don't fit this image I have would be my parents, who do see internet more negatively (well... used to, not as much anymore), but as they come from a different background where internet wasn't that prevalent, they had never have to use it as we do.

Watching this video, a lot of these individuals seem to have some religious reason for staying a virgin (not all). From someone who did not grow in a religious household, I chose to stay a virgin because I don't think I should rush into having sex just because we live in a culture that focuses way too much on sex (pointing at dramas/movies targeted towards teens and young adults). Plus, I may be the weird one as I much rather know someone emotionally and deeply than having sex. EDIT: For those saying I announced it, I thought it was clear that I meant this towards when I am meeting people in my own personal life (IRL) and not using an online nickname posting on a KZbin video. And if that wasn't clear, well this edit is to clear that up.

People who go throughout their life content on only the superficial and refuse to attempt to connect with the source of life are missing something and it’s even sadder most of y’all refuse to realize y’all are missing it.

I really like how comfortable everyone is about being a virgin. It’s definitely something a lot of people get made fun of for, but this was a refreshing video to watch. We live in such a sexualized world where sex sells and it’s nice to see that sex isn’t everything. It’s okay to take your time to get to that point.

I didn’t kiss anyone until I was 22. I could’ve gave him my “V-card” that night, but I chose not to. I feel like losing your virginity is hyped up WAY more than it really should be. You'll still be the same person before and after you have sex, it's not like you go through this huge life changing transformation. I think where a lot of people regret their first time is where they rush it just to get it done and over with because they're nervous or ashamed to still be virgins. Don't do that to yourself. You don't necessarily have to be head over heels in love for your first time (unless you want to which is fine), but definitely wait for someone you feel comfortable and confident with. Also, it's going to be awkward your first time, and that's ok, no one is an expert the first time they try something out. Be honest and upfront with your partner, and if they're not willing to provide what you want just walk away.

@SilentHotdog283 жыл бұрын
Some people seriously are 'just because it never happened' I was like that until nearly 20, did I want to lose it earlier? hell yeah, but did I get any chances?.... well I got 2 chances and one of those times I said no. The first time I was 18, this girl at a party was interested in me, she was pretty too, I had to go with my mate to drop off this younger kid home because she didn't want to walk by herself and it was dark...fair enough, so we dropped her home and went back to the party. The girl that was interested in me was hammered and was trying to get into my pants, I said "no fuckin' way.....I'm not doing it with someone that is hammered" She then asked one of my friends and he said no too, she was disappointed......I saw her at a party down the track and she brought up the previous party and seemed embarrassed but we had a laugh about it. She was with someone by that stage so nothing panned out there. The next time was probably a year later, I had a girlfriend and whenever she came over I'd ask her sometimes (if no one was home) if she wanted to have sex and she said she wasn't ready......But this day she came over and I asked her and she said yes, in my mind I was jumping around dancing and having a party lol.....I told my brother to get out of the house and gave him the eyes.....he understood what I meant and made up an excuse, had the quickest shower I think he ever had and left.....It was just me and the misso.....so we went to the bedroom, both virgins mind you......nervous as hell, especially me lol. We made out and things escalated, I put my hand downstairs and started going to town on her with just my hand, she went wild, after a few minutes she came......she had a very strong odour, when she came it was the worst......I ran to the toilet and vomited from it.......I came back and she was dressing up.......I wanted to keep going even though it was bad.......So I was still a virgin...... End of that same year I had a house party and got a little drunk, but not too bad since it was my parents house and had to look after it Parents were away for the week.....I was to sleep in my parents bed so my friends could sleep in mine. I was getting tired....I went to my parents room to sleep, this chick was sitting on the bed and I'm like "ah what's going on? why are you on my parents bed?" she said "because I'm sleeping here" I'm like.....so confused....I was like, well I'm sleeping here, this is my parents bed.....so up to you if you want to join me or not. She did. She wanted to spoon in fact, so I thought I might have a chance here, I asked if I could feel around and she was all for it, one thing led to another and yeah, we went at it for a while. great time, I didn't finish, but it was really enjoyable.

@@SilentHotdog28 I read through the whole comment, and, don't take me wrong, it ended up being a pretty enjoyable read! But it doesn't really address what I said. It came to the point when my virginity is a big part of my depression and the fear of being too close to people.

Just do what you are comfortable with when you are comfortable doing it :) Don’t feel pressured to lose your virginity before you are ready. It is your body :) I’m sorry you are struggling with depression. Try to stay strong, there is someone for everyone.
@martamatute87553 жыл бұрын
Wow, I don´t have depression but low self-esteem and I know it´s is difficult to feel your virginity is a burden on your shoulders. it is difficult to come to terms with it but it is okay to be a virgin. I have thought about doing it in the first opportunity I get because I didn´t want to be ashamed of being a virgin, but I think what I fear the most is that the person I do it with won´t be worth it and will end up hurting me, so it doesn´t matter what other people say anymore, I won´t do it with some I cannot trust in. I think you should feel proud of yourself for being strong to be firm in this despite other people´s pressure. Many people fell prey to their words and end up regretting those decisions, so I think it is better to follow your heart, your reason, and your instincts. When you find the right person you´ll know when it is the right time to do it.

so sad that people cannot fathom the idea of someone choosing to be a virgin or whatever choice they've made for themselves, it's so nice to see people that still values it and cherish it for a shared experience with someone special and GOOD FOR THEM!!! This video honestly helped me feel better about some of my own insecurities about being a virgin. I only just started my first year of college, but I felt like I was behind everyone else, especially since I've only been on one date and never had a boyfriend. You can't look at someone and know they are a virgin too, so you can't gauge how "apart" or "behind" you are from a group of people. The question about are you afraid of your first time is interesting, it's not really a yes or no answer. I'm not afraid of it, but I'm afraid of the pain, of not feeling pleasure, of not proper protection, and most of all if it's not consensual. Because sadly enough, that's something I, and many people, have to be scared of in this day and age.

In a society where sleeping around is considered empowering, and sex being thrown at your face with alarming vivacity... this was nice to see. Im not a virgin, but hearing some of these folks speak on their experiences with being a virgin brings me back to my very early teens when I just wanted to wait till I met the right person. I know it makes NO sense, but i do sometimes wish that I can go back to that. Sex nowadays has become virtually meaningless (in western civilization at least), where body count holds more weight than having an intimate connection with someone you actually love, and maybe even marry.

However, ofc there can be people who bully you or make you feel weird about yourself because you haven’t had a boyfriend, if that happened to you, im sorry. Nobody should be bullied or looked down on because of their experience or inexperience in sex. Why should people care about that? It is something personal. So yeah, i feel you.

The only time I feel uncomfortable about being a virgin is around friends who aren’t virgins and they start dissecting it like I have to explain myself as if I’m something that needs to be fixed. The most annoying is female friends that talk about how much of a catch you are knowing full well they aren’t interested so their words mean nothing. It’s like you’re failing in math and you’re teacher helps by saying “you’re good at math. You won’t pass my class but you’re a top notch student.” Always a student but never a graduate. I can talk about anything with anybody but there are just too many judgmental people out there and the worst ones are the people that don’t even know they are doing it. They’ll be a nice person but their biases make the feel a certain way about other that kinda inadvertently makes me resent those people. We have these struggles in society because of the people that can’t self reflect and understand other points of view without being clouded or aware of their own biases and flaws in logic. It literally takes a moment to think “why do I feel this way.” Literally just thinking before you talk. Not sorry for the rant. It’s frustrating.

Being a virgin feels like such an isolating experience, so it’s cool seeing that there are literally so MANY of us out there. Sex should never feel like pressure, even once you enter adulthood. Either way, I’m chillin!
