Great tutorial. When I need to do a “necktie “ second deal, I look for a motivation for why I have my hands high. I’ve dealt cards into my breast pocket when working with no table. Or Jay’s fave, blowing the ink dry on the back of “their” card.

For once, it is a passion i have only expierienced with chess before. Big difference is that you can learn new techniques eveveryday. I found that I could only do that deal with a new pack of cards. My older packs (and not very old) just didn't slide across each other very well causing several cards to remain sticking out after each card was dealt.

Might I suggest as an addition to sell the idea of the deck being red, is to keep the red jokers inside the deck, and remove them, throw them down on a table or something and declare you don't need them. Tossing down two red jokers out of the deck will add more to influencing the audience that the deck is red, and you're just removing the jokers because everyone immediately removes the jokers. The problem I find with modern Bicycle decks is that the color scheme is actually confusing to anyone who doesn't like cards. The pattern around the wording will be red on a red deck, but the giant spade in the middle of the front of the box is blue, and this is the same in reverse. Normal people actually don't even know that red and blue card boxes look different at all, and if they do, they don't know if the boarders of the box dictate its color, or the giant spade on the front. I have a deck I keep fixed with a double backer and two jokers for a color-switch routine, and I've literally never met a lay-person who even knew the deck box indicated what color the cards were. So I started taking jokers and leaving them in the boxes to toss them aside before I begin the trick, to help sell the idea.
