God always forgives? So hell is a rumor? No, he requires YOU to forgive 70x7, aka limitlessly, but he does NOT. YOUR OWN BOOK says he's gonna throw people in hell, even ones who had no way of knowing about the gospel for thousands of years BEFORE THERE WAS A GOSPEL. Stop sugar-coating your "god" and actually read about it with your doctrine shut off. I think we have evil habits, I think we have evil tendencies, not sure if we have evil desires. I desire to be more like Christ more than anything, but my flesh fights me on it. I don't desire to be evil, I desire to be glorified. That's one of the great hopes I hold. Future glorification, a totally renewed mind. To have no sinful thoughts, no wrong reactions, to know the truth in all things etc. I hate that I don't know how to be godly in all things. Someday that won't be a problem :) all by Him, to God be the glory

I still think it's a fair question, depending on what you mean by desire. A desire can just be something you want, however strong. Yes, you are a new creation in Christ Jesus, and so our ultimate desire is to grow in Christlikeness. There can still be lesser desires, though, which can be sinful. I may have a sinful desire to be praised and acknowledged, but I have a greater desire for God to be glorified so I submit myself to humility (or our flesh wins this battle and we act in a prideful way which we should repent from).

I battle everyday, been reading His word for about an hour or two almost every day. God is merciful and just and patient. That, however, by no means gives us a right to sin. As Dr. Jeremiah puts it "Grace does not free anyone to sin but it frees believers from sin." Ask yourself thus question "does this, what I'm doing right now, honor God?", that's helped me tremendously. Peace and blessings, brothers and sisters! Pray for my continued sanctification as I continue this battle against my flesh.

We all took pleasure in evil. Some of us more so than others. Our memories of pleasure did not disappear when we became born again. Over time the impact these memories will have on our desires will fade as we become more and more renewed according to Christ and scripture and our being conformed to Christ is an ongoing progression.

I feel like jumping onto the highway. 911 doesn't help. That's the temptations I'm getting right now. I'm not perfect and I don't lie about my sins because God has saved me, but this unforgiving world is what is really beating up on me. I wait for God patiently in my home but sometimes it can be too much. God knows my heart and sees my pain. He's the only thing I have left. I don't care about the physical, spiritually and emotionally, he's the only one I have left. I will pray through this storm but I need someone who will understand both sides. I'm not perfect, I admit that I have lived a sinful life and I was born into sin. I wasn't raised in the church so when I let God in my life I was an adult. I wish I had someone to talk to that would reaffirm God's word in my life because I don't battle my flesh. I crucified my flesh with Christ. It's not physically that is my problem. It's emotionally. That's why I spend my days worshipping God, to ease my pain. Because I know that he's still good, even in the midst of my trials

I didn't read the title correctly because I read it fast, but when I clicked on the video I read it in full, then my answer was right under the title of the video and it's simply desiring Christ. I haven't had a evil desire that Christ didn't redirect me from. I can't say that I have sinful temptation that is a problem in my life. I can't lie, Christ corrects me in the midst of my speech. What I say is what I believe, aligned with what God has revealed/showed me. Im not prideful, and I try to be like Christ with the things I think, say and feel. I'm still human and I repent daily of the things that I know and don't know that I may have done. I'm just waiting patiently for His return, the Bible says that to die is to gain. The person who has never been born has an advantage because he has never lived on this earth to experience the pain that people who are alive experience. I say in my own words. 2022 is not a time for the earth to exist. To die is to gain I will say it again. I fall short of God's grace daily but the best thing that he can do is to come back. Anyone else would probably say it would be a good thing for him to help them out of their trials. But truly, I just want Christ to come back. I would commit suicide but I know my soul lives on and I want to meet Jesus in heaven, so that keeps me going partly. So many people I would've thought would be alive have passed away. Truly, I tell you. I'm not afraid of death. I anticipate meeting Jesus I don't know if I will make it through my trial. Im alone in my life. I have my son but I'm supposed to be there for him, I can't keep laying my burdens on him, I don't want to interfere with his teenage life. I need prayer, I haven't been to a house of God in almost 8 months, I'm becoming a burden on my family because my situation is not getting any better since I started trying to get help for it last year. I just want to get things over with. I don't have any friends and if I did, they probably wouldn't be by me during this trying time anyway. God is the only one I have and I pray that he comes back soon. I don't care about a reputation or legacy at this point in my life. The Bible says that weeping endures for a night but joy comes in the morning. My days are like night and my nights are like days. I don't know what's going on, but I sent my prayer to our Heavenly Father. God wants to hear from us, even when we do not feel like praying, or when we're angry, He still wants to hear from us. Whatever you are going through, you're not alone, and whether it's relating to sex or drugs, we've all been there. God freed me from sexual immorality, and drugs. I was a crack head for like 7 months, 24/7, I remember my mom asked me if I loved her, and I said, "Mom, I don't know what love is anymore!". It was a truthful response. This was back when I was 27, and I'm 51 now. I know the lifestyle, and I don't miss it. Build an active prayer life. The Bible says to pray often that you do not fall into temptation, for the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. I tried everything in my power to escape the lust of the eyes, and of the flesh, and failed miserably, until God had mercy on me, and I suppose it was at that time I called out to Him asking Him for help. I remember all the times I called my mum, and said, _"Remember that sin I told you about, this time I think I conquered it!"_ Sadly, temptation would come around, and I'd be writing my "Dear God, I'm sorry!", letters in my head. Until I reached a point, that I was sorry for being SORRY. I was near tears, because the temptation seemed greater than my ability to resist. Simply trying to do better next time wasn't cutting it. The key to beating this sin, is that we have to love God, and His Word more than the sin, or else we will not reach escape velocity. If you love your wife, you do not need the law that says "do not commit adultery", because the Law was not Written for the righteous, but for the lawless. If we can not love God, there's no reason we should even try to keep the 10 Commandments, because without LOVE, it is impossible. The Bible says that _"the wicked can not sleep at night until they have sinned, and they lose sleep until they cause others to stumble. They stumble therein the night not knowing what it is that causes them to stumble."_ I surmise, that they stumble to and fro one another's sins, and that sin has become so common, that it has become accepted to such a point they do not even know what sin is. God also freed me from a life of chain smoking. I do not believe that smoking (cigarettes) is a sin, but I wanted to quit, just could not do it because it had become habitual, long after the excitement of "smoking" had ended. Stay in God's Word, talk to Him often, thank Him for all things, good and bad, because the bad builds endurance. When I had Covid, God was on my mind constantly, and He saw me through the ordeal. I think that the older you get the more ready you are to go, I can relate.

Sadly we still have evil desire but more importantly we have The Holy Spirit that helps us fight off those desires and exchange them for righteous ones little by little, this is what it means to have a new heart or be born of the spirit, we should see a decrease in our desires for evil and and increase for Godly desires over time, of course we will never be perfect in this life just make sure you're seeing changes in your life.

Philippians 2:12-13 states that we are to work out our salvation...not a merit based assignment but an ongoing willingness to grow and partner and come into a closer relationship with our Lord. We cannot fulfill the 2 greatest commandments ..to love him and others as ourselves unless we consistently go to war with our flesh,the pull of the world and Satan on a daily basis. Be blessed brothers and sisters. Dear friends, you always followed my instructions when I was with you. And now that I am away, it is even more important. Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.

We absolutely have evil desire, all Christians BUT we have to by the Spirit put to death those evil desires and God has given us power to do that through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. We must kill and make war on our sin daily

I'd say maybe the right wording is that evil desires live in our flesh, but we are not those who desire these things, because we are dead to sin, and Christ lives in us. We are new creations in Christ.

I’m a 22 year old male, I’ve been saved for little under a year. When I first converted after hearing the true gospel, I guess it was “easy” to turn from sexual sin, like porn an self pleasure, mainly because the fear of the lord an wanting to honor him by the power of the Holy Spirit. I was a huge pot head before I can to Christ an I can say that was the “main” sin in my life. As soon as I came to Christ that power of sin which ruled was gone. I’ve been clean for about 7 month now an the temptation is not as strong. With that being said over the last couple months I’ve really struggled with sexual sin. I’ve watched porn an committed self pleasure multiple times. I know it evil an I know it’s wrong and I don’t desire to do it more. I desire to be more godly an truly love Christ an his word but it seems like I’ve grown cold towards Christ an stated believing lies in my head that he Dosent love me. I know they are Lies but I can seem to get rid of them. I pray an I ask for help but I’m still struggling. When the thought of watching porn comes to mind I know it’s bad an I say no but once the thought comes to mind I just can’t get rid of it. This t wasn’t an “addiction” of mine before the lord came to me, but it’s almost like the main sin in my life was destroyed now somethinf else is trying to take over

"Having forgiven us for every sin we will EVER DO", is this to imply that we are not finished with sin? Speaking for myself, sure Christ has freed me from my slavery to the lust of the eyes, and of the flesh, but that's not to say that He has freed me from the temptations that come my way 24/7. Keep in mind the following verse below: *Hebrews 10:26-27 (NKJV)* _26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries._ Wouldn't this be an indication that God has not forgiven us should we remain slaves to sin, as it is also Written: *Romans 6:15-16 (nkjv)* _15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not! 16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?_ It's symbolic of those that say, _"Saved by the Blood, here's 10 more sins, God, Hallelujah!!!"_ This is not talking about the man who has just received Christ, but the man who professes to be a Christian, under Grace, yet who remains in sin.

You have mis-defined "sin" according to your own BOOK. 1 John 3:4 is a very clear definition of what a sin is. It's transgressing that front of the book that you SAY doesn't apply. So does it? Or doesn't it? And you mistakenly say "evil" are some of the very things that are included in our humanity. We biologically want to reproduce to keep our genetics moving along through time. We biologically want stuff so that we can survive. Christianity is just all about this US/THEM, we're good, they're not dichotomy which is ALSO a survival function: it was important to know which humans were your tribe and then those who were not. But we're not tribal people struggling against nature anymore, and yet we have these leftover biological imperatives that you want to call out as "evil" and "sinful."

Christians are not under the law, non-Christians are under the moral law. Christianity doesn't have a problem with procreation, but we believe it's God's design that both pleasure and procreation must happen only in marriage. Christianity doesn't even have a problem with wanting material things. But there are more valuable things than the material.
