I appreciate your call for decency in the comment section, and for balance in the presentation. My guess is that the rate cut will come soon, but I'm no expert. Economic policy is tough even without politics. As I was listening, I was expecting you to mention the pandemic and its impact on the economic circumstances at the moment. I was surprised that did not come into the video.

I don't think we will see a rate cut BEFORE the election since such a move will be deemed political - and the Fed is not interested in this. So my take is that a rate cut will come after the election.

Rate cuts will happen before the election. As much as I'd love to believe the fed is independent, we all know this is not entirely true. I'd also like to think that with enough pressure applied from the people, we could make change, but there are lots who would rather just vote because we are lazy.

I believe if the FED thinks inflation is going in the right direction and at the speed they feel is sustainable, they will make a cautious rate cut of 25bp. As to the political timing of this, I think the average citizen is more concerned about day to day expenses and a rate cut won't change those until well after election day. While it will be an instant boon for IRAs, 401(k)s etc, it won't lower the price of milk and eggs anytime soon, and I feel that's what folks will vote on.

Maybe if the political elections and all political systems are changed so that no more criminal corruption exists? But that would also mean that you, me and everyone else would have to leave our comfort zones in order to change it all for the better. Maybe we'll all change fore the better before we leave this world? Maybe next life? (maybe)
